I (think I) actually own all of their albums, and invariably** there are two or three moments where I think "hey, this is actually pretty good!". But that passes.
**Except for whatever that "hyperactive workout" album was. That may have been the worst thing I've ever heard.

Should I gave Foals a chance? Not listened to anything by them. I always think I should give them a spin but the singer seems like an absolute cunt; this often stops me in my tracks.

Gave Atoms For Peace a couple of spins this morning. Quite like it; 3 or 4 tracks that really stand out (can't remember the names of them) and I'm sure the rest will grow.
It does, however, sound like Thom Yorke solo record and the band don't really have thier own identity.

Wasn't blown away by The Men's record from last year, let me know if it much better than the last one.
I saw flaming lips had leaked in 192 as well, just waiting for CD rips of that and BRMC.
Quite like that atoms for peace, I think as I had zero expectations that I've ended up pleasantly surprised.
As for Johnny Marr, first listen of the record seemed to go on FOREVER, a real slog to get through. There's didn't seem anything particularly off about it & there was some nice guitar parts which is expected but it all felt so pedestrian. Also, his voice sounds a bit like Bono. Just very unremarkable on first spin.
