Agreed. Sardy was an awful choice of producer. Some of the live gigs around then were rank rotten as well.

The first 3 albums, and the b-sides are on a different level to everything that followed for me. I find it quite hard to seperate SOTSOG, DBTT and DOYS. The songs I love on Giants are as strong as some of the earlier stuff, but there's a few turds than spoil the album. DBTT is the one I can listen to from start to finish out of those albums, but the best moments don't quite reach the heights of Giants strongest moments. The first half of DOYS is very good, especially the first 2 tracks. The 2nd half is poor though, which is a shame.

The top 2 speak for themselves. I get a lot of flack for my love of SOTSOG, but i just love the whole vibe of it, and if Let's All Make Believe was included then it would be even closer to the top 2.

Don't Believe The Truth is a good solid album for me from start to finish, with every song being at least a 6/10. Be Here Now is just too long, if the songs had been one or two minutes shorter it would certainly be higher up, as the songs individually a really good, but just listening to them all as a album is too much.

DOYS first half of the album is brilliant, up there with the best that they have done, but it just falls off a cliff badly after I'm Outta Time.

Heathen Chemistry is just a bad album, badly produced, and barring 4 or 5 songs the rest is just rubbish really. I do still enjoy the singles though and Born on a Different Cloud

only 2 or 3 turkeys on it for me.

doys & dbtt both have more duds on it.
