Don't know too much about their owners but generally no billionaire ever made their money by being nice guys - most epl owners have probably got skeletons in the closet. So, good luck to NUFC.

John Henry and his hedge fund mates are indirectly responsible for more deaths than every arab shiekh in history combined.
the takeoever is a bit strange though as the current value of any sport team at the moment is less than zero, they just haven't realised that yet.

It is a way for the Kingdom to improve their image, they were on a big soft power push prior to Kashoggi getting chopped up into small pieces. Hence their recent investment into LiveNation, Softbank, and their big push with Saudi Vision 2030. Asset prices don't matter for them, they can connect the Kingdom to some form of pseudo liberalization by putting their name on a kit.

looks closer to being settled.
It appears only remaining hold up with NUFC takeover is Man Utd's sponsorship deal with Saudi Telecom (PIF own 70%), which PL insist must end prior to approving the takeover. Likely to end 31st July, but only on the provision PL give provisional approval on those terms.
Follow up on NUFC info... - STC matter now resolved, they have agreed to rescind rights to Man Utd Logo and Imagery in KSA marketing. MUTV Broadcasts and SMS service will continue.
-PL has now confirmed to PIF that they are satisfied.
- Funds in motion. News in 5-10days. 2:21 PM · Jul 14, 2020
