Bizarrely Anton has become some kind of voice of reason in recent years on Twitter. Well worth a follow if you're on there. I successfully avoided Twitter so far but I will keep that in mind in case I eventually give up! |

Still remember seeing them in Gothenburg and taking Helen's older brother who'd only ever seeing U2 & Depeche mode in concert "Yeah.. BJM sound a little bit like those bands I guess"... then Anton stops Nevertheless and makes the drummer start it again 3 times then storms off stage leaving the band making up some terrible improv jam whilst asking the crowd for any jokes.
The Swedes are too polite, they really deserved to be bottled off stage. Anton returned 20 minutes later like a man possessed & spent half the gig playing guitar with a wine bottle.
For a band I was so obsessed with it's a shame how little I care now. Their 90s to early 2000s run was pretty damn strong but I'm just happy to stick those Tepid Peppermint Wonderland comps on when I need my fix.

I was reading that at one time BJM opened for Oasis (not sure he year) and Joel was trying to give the band crystal meth and they took it besides Noel. I thought it might have been the infamous 1994 LA show but I have my doubts.

On stage, they were just gone. Their jaws were working like old-fashioned train crankshafts.”"

a mate filled in as drummer for a support band on a few dates of UK tour this spring, everyone had signed up the tour under the impression that anton was long off the ale and his mental health was OK. he turned up pissed and told everyone on day one it would be fine cos he was off his meds and it was the meds that caused all his problems. (none of the rest of the band are sober but it's anton who shouldnt be anywhere near booze)
