Think it's time to get a slide installed and open your home up as a water park, Eddie.

Sorry to hear about it not being insured.

I had a leak in my roof in January and water got in and made it's way down in the basement - I had some damage that insurance would cover on the inside but wouldn't touch the roof area (something to do with the policy). Anyways I got a piece of eavestrough installed and water doesn't hit that area anymore.. so far so good.

Hopefully they roofers don't rake you over the coals murphs.

My Dad lost the plot whilst we were looking at houses to buy a few years ago. One we were interested in had a dip in the tiles and a few missing. He was literally frothing at the mouth whilst ranting at the estate agent about the cost of replacing a roof. As we drove off he was going to me, 'they're have theirs done, they have had theirs done' and on and on and on.

Needles to say that we didn't buy it. Good luck, Eddie!

Did the roofer show up after Eddie? For some reason, I have take quite a concern for you roof.

Did you pinpoint the issue? Need to be re-tared or shingled etc?

Nightmare; unfortunately no matter how skint you are you've got to fix leaks asap, especially when it rains near constantly on plauge island, causes no end of damage otherwise as you've seen.

I actively despise alot of tradespeople though....one charged me £500 did two hours work and said I wouldn't have a leak "for 10 years". Week later, heavy rain it leaks. Come back the next day..."fixed it" again....month on, pissed through it again. This was around Xmas so I was in and out the loft to get the deccys and I could see the problem straight away. Called him back, sent him pics and he's goes "yeah that's the problem but I'm in hospital. You're first on my list when I get discharged". In the meantime I went out and bought some roofing felt and flash band (£30 all in and I've got 99% of it still left) a couple of hours work and did a "bodge" and not had a leak in 6 months. By the way the cunt never stopped working And wasn't in hospital as he never stopped getting reviews on my builder.

spoke to the roofer a couple of hrs ago.

he mentions these tiles that weren't in stock.

said he'd go down and see if the tiles are in stock.

2 hrs later and i'm still waiting.

that saturday/sunday forecast is giving me kittens tbh. :|
