Hey guys, so all votes are now in and counted! I've consulted with my good friend Barny to make sure the we keep consistency with the scoring and weighting of placements, so as always, the top 30 from every list will be counted with 30 points attributed to every number one album chosen, and then down from there (#2 album = 29 points etc..)
Just for a little info and to wet the appetite a tad, we had fourteen lists this year and a grand total of 208 albums were chosen; the average list length was 25.5, with 176 albums qualifying for inclusion on the final countdown.
Numbers 176-51 are below as a taster while I work on the data and consider the best options to present the rest:

Lovely stuff. As a small point of order, I believe albums with more votes are placed higher when tied on points (see Strokes v Doves in 2020 when Strokes won with 9 votes to 8).

Barny did mention to me in passing that his "intricate spreadsheet network" would be replaced this year by Kev's "shitsheets" and he might wilt at the pressure. I personally think Kev has this covered though.

I personally think Kev has this covered though. " a taster while I work on the data and consider the best options to present the rest" Doesn't sound promising to me. Kevin should have considered these options fully before begging to replace our chief of data operations Barny.

Kev is doing a magnificent work and I'm pretty sure the amazing presentation will erase any kind of memory of the previous lists

No, but maybe it's all starting to look a bit suspicious. I mean, here you can start big ambitious projects that nobody really cares about like a record from every country or even introduce a dictatorial system of qualifying rounds for rating records and stop it all of a sudden... but when you mess with the end of year lists, it's the hearts of the people you're playing with

1. Fontaines DC - Skinty Fia 2. Alvvays - Blue Rev 3. Soccer Mommy - Sometimes Forever 4. Liam Gallagher - C'MON, YOU KNOW 5. Death Cab For Cutie - Asphalt Meadows Horrible year for me listening wise. I know I am missing a few albums off of this list but I can't remember now ffs. One of my goals of 2023 is to try and listen to more music (especially when at work) - my turntable's needle and speakers went to shit so I've gone ahead and ordered new ones and hoping to get more spinning done this year as well ... as I really miss that Fuck sakes. I should have made Alvvays my number 1! What an album. I know it said it was number 2 but FUCK. It's HITTING ME HARD

I'm really surprised at the universal praise the Alvvays record has gotten. Don't get me wrong, I like it, some great tunes. But Each record has been a step down from the last. Just feels like this kinda attention should have come before this record.

I bet they drop Archie Marry Me from their set now as everyone just wants to hear the new record!
I forgive them, I watched their Amoeba records What's in the Bag from this week & the singer picked a Television Personalities record + Be Here Now so I've decided they are OK again.
