fucking hell 2 purposes served by this thread; shows led zeppelin to be a pack of awful cunts and also makes you want to listen to a shitload of great blues music from the 20's and 30's.

I think there's nothing wrong with them covering songs, in fact it's quite usual in blues and (although subjective) they usually improved them or took them to another level. I just can't understand (well, I can) why they didn't give the credits to all those artists or how anybody claimed for them, they're quite blatant tbh.

plus all the nitwits crediting them for being amazing rock 'n roll artists and making amazing rock 'n roll (HUGE LOL they're shit ofcourse) which eventually turned into them making EVEN MORE money. and that for a bunch of twats who used to buy small faces beer. Life is unfair it seems

Yeah, clear case of Led Zep's plagiarism in our friend Bobby. He didn't have enough with stealing Moz's status, he's gonna take my personality too...

Have they ever been successfully sued? You would have thought some of those people's estates would have noticed.

Isn't that what Barnsy said? sort of, but the way he worded his first sentence suggested that he thought Led Zeppelin released the songs as covers which they didn't, they covered the songs but then claimed them as their own songs.

Have they ever been successfully sued? You would have thought some of those people's estates would have noticed. probably settled in a way no one would ever hear about in some cases, in others (especially regarding older blues stuff or them copying arrangements of traditional songs) it's not something anyone would ever win the nastiest one in those vids I reckon is the theft of dazed and confused, which is so blatant yet page claims never to have heard it, despite having played himself on a cover of that song!

I can't watch these videos as i'm at work, but I thought it was common knowledge that they borrowed/stole a load of stuff from blues, I thought all the writers get written credits on the albums or they were changed enough or re-arranged enough by Page to escape plagiarism?
Dazed and Confused was performed by the Yardbirds when Page was in them wasn't it?

Never knew that Jimmy Page asked Terry Reid as their singer but he declined and apparently recommended Robert Plant

I dont like Led Zeppelin. I did when I was like 14. They never took. Same with Pink Floyd except for Barrett and Dark Side.
