How are you genuinly feeling about this at the moment Axe/Bob/Eddie other Liverpool fans...? I suppose i'm cautiously optimistic. I don't believe in this whole "we don't want more yanks!" shite, but at the same time, we don't want the same thing to happen again. I don't believe it will. On one of the forums i'm on there's a few American baseball fans and they've been talking about how much money they put into the Red Sox and how they redeveloped the stadium etc. It all sounds promising. They don't spend ridiculous money, but they do consistently invest smartly. In all honesty i'd much rather have owners who will spend smartly rather than go mental like at City and Chelsea, especially with the new UEFA rules. I've been told by some of the fans that they will enable us to spend within our means, that's good enough for me. As long as they don't come in with all kinds of daft promises that they can't keep. This is a good article which shows how they support the team: sports.espn.go.com/boston/mlb/columns/story?columnist=edes_gordon&id=4943885First things first though we still need to get rid of the two lying cunts. One thing i like is how the board have acted, they spoke as Liverpool Football Club and didn't allow the owners to do that as right now they are outsiders at their own company. Purslow, Ayres and Broughton deserve massive respect for what they've done here.

If I were in your shoes I would be the same as what the guy in the article hehe posted said. It doesn't matter where he or they're from, just as long as they have a 'connection' with football and want best for the club. That's what it's all about in the end, for every club or sport, to survive and stay healthy

you know the current owners are American don't you Karl, so that joke is several years old? Well, funny you should mention that as I was actually aware of that, infact only yesterday I had a signature which featured Tom Hicks and George Gillett until you removed it in yet another breach of your 'power'. & the joke is on you soon as not only have you been Liverpool Soccer Club for several years but it seems you will be for several more now

i didn't touch your sig and you know it, i think it's pretty clear that you removed it yourself so that you could further sully my name. Sad times Karl, you've sunk pretty low.

If you never removed my signature then it must of been Moz, I doubt he would of though. Please don't try to damage my name by branding me a liar, I am above these silly games, it's not a big deal, it's ok, I forgive you Robert

www.guardian.co.uk/football/2010/oct/06/tom-hicks-george-gillett-144m-lossesthat might initially look great to any kopite who wishes to see hicks and gillett lose a lot of money, and perhaps it will turn out that way, but faced with losing such an enormous amount of money no wonder they went mental and tried to sack the board last night, they'll surely have it tied up in court for as long as they can, no one on earth is going to bend over and take a loss of that magnitude.

they'll try, but as far as i can make out they haven't really got a leg to stand on. They appointed Broughton on the condition that only he could make changes to the board and that he would ultimately have the final say on the sale. The reason they're making such a loss is because they fucked the club in the arse for three years and created all this debt, it's their own faults.

it might not be that simple, the board have a legal obligation to act in the best interests of the shareholders, who in this case are hicks and gillett, also since broughton was brought in to sell the club he might be on some kind of bonus for selling the club. all ifs and buts of course but we both know the same about it.... never underestimate the ability of a yank to drag something through the courts though

Don't really knwo enough about the ins and outs of these business deals but it's incredibly simplistic to say it'll be good for Liverpool because they been ok for Boston REd Sox.
American sport have the draft system and a salary cap both of which don't apply to Saccer.
Considering Liverpool's wage bill means they are STILL reliant on Champions League football and they don't look like getting near that any time soon then I'd be surprised if this turns out how kopites think it will.

More info for Eddie, and anyone else wondering about our possible new owners financial background. We are going to be owned by NESV, which consists of 17 investors, worth billions. One of these investors is the New York Times, who own over 16% of NESV. The sugar daddy of the New York Times is none other than Carlos Slim. The richest man in the world. Richer than Bill Gates, richer than Buffet, Ambani and all of them. www.forbes.com/lists/2010/10/billionaires-2010_Carlos-Slim-Helu-family_WYDJ.htmlTbh as far as i'm aware the only connection Slim has is that he gave a huge loan to the New York Times Company.

The richest man in the world. Richer than Bill Gates, richer than Buffett, Ambani, Mittal, and all of them. why is that relevant? NESV exist to make money out of sports franchises like the liverpool red shite. they'll not be putting anything in, they'll be taking out.
