Shit name yes, post-dubstep, future-garage, purple sound but whatever, it's producing some of the most exciting innovative music aboot reet now. Chances are that if you liked Untrue by Burial (and if you didn't you're probably a paedophile) then you'll maybe dig most of this. Good for dancing, good for driving, good for smoking, good for lying on your bed with your fake Sennheiser headphones on. here are some tracks that slay me. more will come. 2010 might not be so bad after all: Joy Orbison - Hyph Mngo (ok it's 2009 but a fucking classic in my eyes and ears) Ramadanman - Work Them Jamie XX - Far Nearer James Blake - CMYK Julio Bashmore - Footsteppin' Jamie Woon - Night Air (Ramadanman Refix) (I put in another thread that this song almost brought me to tears last night. it affects me in a weird way. maybe the best tune i've heard this year) Darkstar - Gold (more 'song-y'. jaw dropped a little when listening to this)

post-dubstep, ffs. these are just dubstep tunes with more diverse rhythm patterns and instumentation, i wouldn't exactly call this a new genre, at least here this all goes under the dubstep-moniker and i think it should also.
anyways i like how the genre is advancing all in all. i can go to dubstep-parties these days and not get sick of the wobbly bass after the 3rd song

If its going to be a different name, Id rather them create a brand new name rather than another word to make it like a 2.0 thing. At the end of the day, its just a silly genre label and Im not bothered by it.

Working my way through the youtube videos just now and they're sounding lovely indeed. Always been partial to a bit of dubstep but it's something I really need to be in the mood to stick on. Also, cheers for that link by the way, Ben.
It's a shame we never did get Burial's DJ Kicks in the end.

Honestly...tried to listen to this shit but its hard... really hard. Bass is all over the joint and harder to get other dudes into.
I mean its hard enough to say "hey guys, ya listen to this shoegaze shit" than say "ya this dubstep iz dee (admin lol) nuts".
so for this reezon, im oot. Balantynes gyms> fiver for a month rofl.

well you should really listen to dubstep from a decent set of speakers, i find that all kinds of electronic music benefit hugely from a good soundset. you can listen to indierock from any kind of cans and it still sounds alright, but if you don't feel that kick on a good techno song, it's no good
