Welling Utd vs Gills Confirmed - 27th July! A sodding Wednesday night though, ruining all chance of being there. Another defeat to Karl's boys then

It's our 125th Anniversary this year so we were meant to be playing three 'Glamour Friendlies' to celebrate. So far only Glasgow Rangers have given us the courtesy of accepting the invitation.
Arsenal and AC Milan were also invited but turned us down. We then wrote to Newcastle United (Jackie Milburn played for both clubs) but they didn't even bother to reply, same goes for Everton.
So our pre-season is made up of games against Inverness Caledonian Thistle and Kilmarnock, plus the Rangers game. We also play a few junior sides from Northern Ireland and possibly go to Wales to play TNS.

We are currently in the USA, probably to keep our sponsors satisfied. Playing DC United and Portland Timbers. These are more of After-season friendlies though as the first friendly is only a week after the last league match.
Heard they are also planning a trip to China. Fuck all that shit, I want pre-season friendlies against local teams. Go there with some friends, have a few beers and a laugh. Nothing beats seeing your favourite team on some shit complex without 17.000 police officers searching you and other silly rules. Ok, maybe winning the league or Champions League

Watching the DC United - Ajax game. DC United must be the worst and most uninspiring team I have ever seen play live on TV

Gills vs Welling is tonight
I am already nervous about a beating from Kent's 2nd best team. They always seem to beat us (well the last couple of years!). Won't be many that turn up I shouldn't have thought - as we played at Park View Road only a week ago. Alas, let's see

City played in Canada last night (for the first time ever?) and won 2-1 on an absolutely wicked strike from SWP. God, I hope we don't sell him.

Gills game is tonight, got moved for some reason. Looking forward to it not seen any football for what feels like forever. Tried to watch a bit of the womens world cup final & switched it off as it felt like it was in slow motion. Lost the opening two matches against Charlton & Margate though was 0-0 with charlton at h/t before bringing on 9 players on trial. Our captain jack parkinson is on trial at Southend, has played two pre season games with them. Huge figures of 8-10,000 being branded about as a transfer fee . Seems there are other clubs in for him too so I guess he'll be on his way. Good luck to him, he always looked a level or two above Welling.

Yeah, but he is the last real link to the pre-money era, and it'd be nice for him to reap a few of the benefits that will be coming this year. I want him to get in the charity shield and maybe a CL match...I'm sentimental that way.

Yeah thats true, though he has seen his fair share with Chelsea and England, plus don't forget that City paid £18m for him I think, didn't they?
