Don't think they'll do Tender tonight, don't think they've got long enough unless they played a much shortened version
Girls & Boys Parklife Beetlebum Song 2 The Universal
Would love them to do some MLIR tracks though. Fucking made up about this gig they're doing like, one of the biggest regrets I've ever had not going to Hyde Park to see them in 2009, looked amazing so chuffed I've now got the chance. Can't actually believe it, the two bands who I most wanted to see who I still hadn't both now playing this year, with the Roses being the other one. New Order and The Specials supporting as well.
All over that Pulp TCT gig as well if I can get tickets.

They only have 11 minutes so most the songs will be shortened versions.

That is a good lineup for the Blur gig. Having seen them there a few years ago I don't think I wanna go again with it being about 60 quid, a sunday & will be just another greatest hits set no doubt. I bet it's not as loud as it was even in 2009 either.
So bored of gigs right now. If it's more than a few thousand people or more than 20 quid I ain't interested anymore. I'm even having second thoughts about seeing the Roses now.
fuck, I sound like Sully. I'LL BE AT ACTION BRONSON

Pretty obvious choices yesterday and not a particularly good performance. But they are probably the most representative songs and good examples of their aim for diversity, each song could easily be attached to a different genre yet all of them are typical Blur. And seeing them together is just great

And seeing them together is just great Yeah, for me they didn't need to do all of the first 3 songs, they could have gotten away with one of them, because even though they are different as such, they essentially do the same thing, and Girls & Boys and Parklife didn't really work with a non partisan audience made up of a crowd full of people who enjoy Coldplay and buy an Adele album every 6 seconds. They cut the coverage at Parklife over here and you had to change to a different channel to watch Tender & This is a Low which worked far batter in that setting than trying to go all 'oi oi party central' with a bunch of kids who would never in a million years understand what's being played in front of them, they should have played Beetlebum & The Universal because they would have worked better. Or in an ideal world just done Battle and finished with a 15 minute version of Essex Dogs.
