Surprised there's no thread about this yet...
Got to say the way this has been promoted etc has been amazing, these days "big albums" are really few and far between in the age of the download, but they've managed to make this release into a big event especially after a while out of the game.
Really liking "Get Lucky" too, it doesn't reinvent the wheel but it's a great lead single and already got a couple of great collaborators on it.

I stuck a YouTube video of the collaboration with George Moroder on here somewhere. I've been checking for a leak everyday for weeks. Only listened to Get Lucky a few times as its going to get caned and I want to check the album version out first (6mins). They have said they don't plan to tour this album at all I was offered a ticket to the global album launch....in Wee Waa here in Australia

Probs won't end up going, I'd have to give up a shift or two at work, but seeing the Daft Punk global world wide album launch with 4,000 pilled up Daft Punk fans in the middle of an agricultural show in a sleepy remote farming community would be pretty bizzare...

Really like Get Lucky, hopefully the new album is a return to form. Human After All was good but didn't really have any stand out songs on it.

Title track, robot rock and technologic stood out for me. It's not that good an album but those 3 were belters. Television is decent in a set

Good singles but their albums bore the life out of me. Despite the opprobrium I am going to receive from some, they just might be the most overrated group in the history of music.

I'm scared to say I agree. Great singles and robot gimmick, but that's about it.

Meh, as I said to Mahoney, Homework is a brilliant album. When it came out it was a proper game changer of the genre. No one else was doing that big, clean beats like they did on that album. Them and the Prodigy (Jilted) were probably the most influential dance albums from the past 25 years. I was right into clubbing in 1996 when Homework came out and when their tunes were plays in clubs it was a breath of fresh air. I'm not going to argue there are or aren't over rated but I will say they are one of the best live acts I've seen, certainly in my top 3 gigs of all time. If you ever get a chance go see them

Overrated is the most overrated term, just ahead of pretentious. Both terms used by buzzkill narks insecure with other peoples opinions and tastes

I liked that song with the mandog/dogman. For the rest I think they're shite.
