This album is embarrassingly forgettable. It was hard work for me to get throuh the record. The vocal effects, the plodding pace, everything comes across as soulless, containing no emotion with their laborious nature constantly sucking every piece of life out of their music. Everything felt so pedestrian & quite frankly, dull. The record ended after testing my patience on numerous occasions and then the opening two seconds of guitar from the new Fall LP kicked in, it was a 1000 times more exciting than anything on here. I suppose it'll make a nice soundtrack for middle aged people having a BBQ this summer that don't want to be challenged or thrilled by music any longer, but it's nothing I'll ever want to have the displeasure of hearing again. Music for pillocks.

I've only listened to it once so i'm not sure yet but on the first listen it sounds ok, some of the longer songs are a bit trying but there's a lot going on so hopefully it'll get more interesting with more listens. Not what I expected at all in terms of style, no real bangers as such, the two funky tunes with Pharrell on them and the closing song are the only real uptempo numbers. Looking forward to listening to it some more, should be a real hit at my legendary summer BBQ's.

You're also enjoying new Vampire Weekend? Or am I alone with that one? Haven't had a chance to play the VW yet. Someone did tell its their "best yet". I am really enjoying Random Access Memories though, taken a grew listens to fully appreciate it. Had it on on Friday night after the misses went to bed. Large glass of red wine, a spliff and it was great. Definitely a chill out album ala Moon Safari

The lads down the Loudon would be horrified. since I moved out here and been to a few of the vineyard tours. Fucking love the stuff now. In fairness all I've done is swap a Shiraz for Buckfast. And it's out of the glass rather than the bottle. Not to worry, there's an offy here that l get Tonic from, bought half a crate last month

This might break BHN record... But it can't surely? 165,000 copies to BHN's 696,000. It's almost as if the media could be accused of massively overhyping Daft Punk

Wouldn't say 40+ year old blokes knocking about dressed as robots was cool like I don't really think NGHFB number one fanboi is in a position to say what's cool and what's not.
