I remember in the old days of the soapbox we'd always have lists being posted, Horizen & JP loved a pointless list. I thought I'd keep it to 5 because we are old and lazy
So here post your top 5's of anything. Songs about death, records by Stevie Wonder. top 5 musicians called Phil.
top 5 Bowie records
01: Station to Station 02: Blackstar 03: Low 04: Lodger 05: Aladdin Sane
I wondered at the time if Bowie's death had influenced by love of Blackstar to a degree. Even a few years on it's still impossible to listen to it without thinking about the fact Bowie knew his days were numbered but it still sounds so incredible to my ears. I really do think it's a bloody masterpiece.
Top 5 musician moustaches
01: Lee Hazlewood 02: the bloke from sparks 03: Grinderman era Nick Cave 04: Freddie Marcury 05: Barny

The Head on the Door Disintegration Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me Wish Pornography
I'd go like that, though I prefer the poppier side to the cure rather than the harsh moody gothy stuff

I've started listening to The Head On The Door, Disintegration and Kiss Me x3. I'd do a top5 songs, but the only weird choice at the moment would be The End Of The World, which I seriously love.
Anyway, my 5 favourite moments of Trash by the New York Dolls: - The unhinged Traaeeeissh backing vocals. - "And please don't ask me if I love you" + the first time the lead guitar enters with that lick. - The bouncing bass that goes along with the marching drums, EVERY SINGLE TIME. - The ghostly and soft "ooh ooh oooh" vocals that shouldn't probably work but they do. - When after some minutes where nothing new really happens, it reaches the climax basically creating The Ramones.*
*Then it goes back to the start again with the additional Tra-ya-ya-ya backings, which would be the top6 moment.

Chrissie, have you read Steve Hanleys 'The Big Midweek'? It's the definitive voice on the Fall, I think.

It's an incredible book. Written by a journalist who was on tour with them across America in 1969. Took him 10 years to write, apparently. You'd rate it, Karl.

Hello Monday 4 life! I bought the Dark Stuff for 50p from a charity shop a few months back, will have to give it a go. 01: Miles: The Autobiography - Miles Davis That is an absolute motherfucker of a book. (Bizarre aside: my copy was originally an Ebook in ms word (?!) format, and it required some format changes to read on a kindle, not all of which took. For years, I thought he had a trumpeter friend he nicknamed Dark Terry. Only years later, did I discover that it was in fact *clark* Terry, whoops.
