Already from the start I knew I had to make two exceptions from the rule of one song=one artist/band (forgot to mention that in the guidelines, it's actually the most important one I followed..) and that would be Bob Dylan and the Beatles. Mostly because they were some of the few who managed to sound so distinctively different through their career.

With Dylan I had Like A Rolling Stone on there for a very long time but look at the year it was released... in the end it was better to pick Blowin' In The Wind as it also represents his early career in a good way with the folk inspiration.

It was a very hard decision but I still feel it was the right one.

DerEffe: Sure why not. Just give me a week or two more to collect all mp3s. I don't have the full collection just yet for the 60s.
Talking about that I am a bit nervous about the 50s.. but in this day and age I guess all should be possible to find on the internet. Otherwise I'll rip it from Spotify. (You don't have it in Holland?)

Yes spotify is available here but even though I already know quite a few tracks these are quite cool compilations for when you're in the mood for music of a certain decade. So I thought it would be cool to have all these on mp3. But only if it doesn't take you too much time/effort though. Can't ask you for that

Even though the feedback to my little project was very weak I thought I should reward you anyway for making this forum such a great place

I've turtled the 1960s files for you in a rar.
All properly tagged and with appropriate playlists per year and decade.

My father got the book and cds (as well as a USB) on his birthday last month and it went down very well. I am proud and satisfied with the outcome. It actually became a proper book with hardcover and all. The illustrations and collages helped package it nicely with my texts about each song.

If anyone wants to have the other decades I might turtle them some day.

A colleague of mine knows a book publisher and is pushing me for a meeting. I guess I have two buyers in you and him at least, if it would ever happen

And as you say, the amount of shit that is released indicates I wouldn't have a problem getting it out.
