Tribbles dammit. They need a movie with Tribbles (I know jack shit about Star Trek bar Tribbles and Khan and part IV ) it'd be funny for about the first 20 minutes. memory-alpha.org/wiki/Trelanememory-alpha.org/wiki/Harry_MuddMudd's eps and the Trelane episode are good. Worth checking out if you've got the time.

I wouldn't be surprised if they found some sort of way to bring him into the fold in the upcoming movie since this is supposed to be an "alternate universe" thing. TBH i found that episode kinda boring.

(Nerd alert)
They didn't kill off Pike in the first one, right? Get the Talosians involved to get him out of this 'new reality' thing, just to make it sort of palatable to those of us who hated this 'reboot' idea.
/(Nerd alert)
Oh, and the menagerie is the rehash of the pilot with Pike and the Talosians. Gary Mitchell was in 'where no man has gone before'. Yay, useless knowledge!

He lives and they make him an admiral at the end and relieve him of his duties with the Enterprise.. Thus making Kirk Captain and all fits back into place like it should. It'd be nice if they killed him off or got him out of the picture somehow.
