I don't know; I've seen Interpol once live in 2004 and they were nothing more than average. Never seen BSS but one thing for sure is that I'd never see an Interpol show in France. As far as I know, french people go crazy for Interpol so chances are you won't even enjoy the show because you'll be surrounded by annoying people. yeah, that would truly be the worst thing that could happen, seeing a band next to people that really enjoy them!

Well fanbois are pretty annoying. There's quite a difference between people really enjoying a band and people yelling and stuff. Or when people start clapping, that's when I usually leave or sprint towards the bar and get so shitfaced I have a huge blackout and will never ever have to think about that gig again

Has Interpol got that bad? I remember their first two records and they weren't that bad. Nice guitars, very powerful...although I doubt the could pull out those songs live with the same sonic assault.

seen interpol twice and bss once.
go with broken social scene for sure. theyre not as good live as a lot of people make out but theyre good fun and play for hours and hours so you get good value for money. interpol are awfully dull live

Having said that, Joanna Newsom at Tavastia 3 years ago was probably among my best gigs ever.

When I was going to college, I saw Broken Social Scene. They had already released You Forgot It In People, but for some reason played a venue that resembled a warehouse more than a club or anything. For a college town with about 20 bars and theaters, it was a surprise. Yet, there they were, all of them!

theres no such thing as too drunk.
also in finland (tampere especially) I saw masses of binge drinking that would make any englishman pause for a split-second before going with the flow.

That being said, are warpaint any good?
