Loving this!
basically sounds like jerry lee lewis - Great Balls Of Fire
It's different and was not expecting this.

I like it, direct and rocking, Liam sounds top and there some nice additions to the usual sound (piano, early backing vocals) but on the other hand I think it could be slightly better and there are far too many come ons...

seems to have split the fans, loads saying they hate it. "Huey on 6Music "That's Bring The Light, the new song from Liam Gallagher's Beady Eye......and now for some real music""

I like it, I'm scared of an oasis lite album, but this is fresh and has a lot of energy. I think to be honest they've used this to specifically distance themselves from oasis with the piano being some prominent and the female backing vocals . Id compare it to mistress Mabel by fratelli's, not groundbreaking but a bit of fun and will sound class live too. Put it this way I'd take it over any other Liam Andy or gem song minus songbird and possibly born a different cloud

Fucking having this tbh. In the grand scheme of things, it's nothing new but compared to what we're used to hearing Liam sing it's radically different. And fresh. It's rocking, Liam sounds fucking fantastic and it's bluesy and ballsy.
Nice one Beady Eye.

After a few more listens I'm changing my mind a bit, it starts really well but goes a little nowhere after the first minute or so. And that's quite usual with Liam's songs tbh.

Yeah the guitar solos are fucking sheeeite. Lyrics are shite (expected) but in general its decent enough. I hope they go with that sound for the rest of the album, but less Jerry-Lee Lewis 12-bar blues if you know what I mean.
Would love to hear a Boy With The Blues type song with those arrangements. BDI swings where Oasis plods.

it is kind of a cheap 60's imitation. from the sound, the lyrics, the piano, even the cover. everything is. i dont hate it, but my expectations have dropped WAY down.
still want the 7'' though, anyway. i'm a fanboi like that.

Its alright. Liam sounds great and the song has a pulse to it that is quite good. It feels like an HC or DBTT b-side though

Apart from hearing Liam's voice again I can't see how anyone could have had any high expectations on this. It was still the same band members and the same songwriters so you could pretty much sense how the quality would be.
I am pleasantly surpised though. It's nothing ground-breaking and it would never be. As much as Noel is a MOR these days he is the one, if anyone, that might be able to change his sound more radically when free of the Oasis shackles.
Having said this I find it fascinating that Liam leapt even further back in rock history. I doubt the rest of the album will have the same vibe though.
All in all, I'm very happy to have Liam back singing a good rock song and showing once again he can lift an ordinary song above itself with his voice. And to hear that much piano in an Oasis song is a lot of fun. And as mentioned previously, it has a swagger and lightness to itself that you hadn't heard in an Oasis song for quite some time.
