btw Dan, Kate Bush's new one continues to grow on me with each listen. Definitely give it your time. Hehe aye, I finally gave it a listen yesterday, and instantly really liked most of it. Even the bit with Stephen Fry. Loved the opening track, the duet with her son Need to give it a load more listens but i can see it getting in my year-end list, even on the strength of one listen. Luvverly stuff, as ever

Heard a rumour that it currently sits at number 16 in Mahoney's end of year list.
I've got the list on a USB stick which I've kept right up my bum so it can't leak until the 15th.

I'm listening (and/or re-listening) to so much music from this year, and writing so many notes atm, that it genuinely feels like a second job But you can't beat this time of the year really. Reading people's lists and recommendations an that Got a solid, decided top five now, and starting to add pics an that to my blog post for it Gotta say, this has been a brilliant year for new music and films (yeah, I'm doing a bloody films post at the same time)

I started my 2011 quest in OCTOBER listening to every album I'd acquired a good 5 or 6 times. I've given so much to this list, so fucking much.
then stupid cunts like the black keys and that dosshead from the coral have to release albums now and fuck with my mojo.
Film list is always hard, so many films I wanna see but unable to. Be a BLOKE and do UK theatrical release dates and where there wasn't one the DVD release date. thats right, black swan & true grit were this year. I couldn't give a fuck if a film was screened at some film festival in Toronto at the start of 2010. UK = the world. But yeah this year I've seen more new films than ever and probably been to the cinema more times this year than in my entire life, or something like that.

btw dan, avoid the woman & Kill List. They are getting ranked high up on all these end of year lists, both films were atrocious. These magazines must be being payed to big this shit up. The Woman is entertaining in a WTF kind of way though. Kill List is just plain awful.

aye, I'm going by British cinema release-dates. This is a great site to research that shit - www.filmdates.co.uk/I've burned through a good handful of recommended films this week, have enjoyed them all, and luckily I had plenty on my list already, as i've kept notes all year this time ( ) I tried to 'get' Kill List, but can't find it anywhere online yet. I remember you saying it was shit Also really wanna see We Need To Talk About Kevin and Tinker Tailor, but no decent rips of those about yet either FFS Check out Snowtown if you can Karl. This year's really harsh Australian film about murder

Yeah it's great but it still can't give me the stats showing me where my music is from.
Eg. 0.01% of my music comes from Finland.
My vision encompassed this and it's a shame they didn't incoroprate it when they stole my idea.
