A seriously underrated LP. A whole host of quality songs like Ulysses, No You Girls, and the electro-glam stomper that is Twilight Omens. The production is fantastic as well, easily the best sounding FF album. Not bad considering they were working with the guy responsible for Lily Allen

I like it, never did hear the second album, any good? Debut holds up as a good record and liked the Tonight record.

I like the second LP. There's a few tracks on their that are absolute belters - This Boy, The Fallen, Walkaway. Right up their with the best stuff they've ever done. But there's also a few weaker tracks. Still definitely worth a download.

That latitude gig swung it for me. I see them a few times when the debut came out and enjoyed it but overkill put me completely off of them so I never listened to it again for a few years. The singles from the second record I hated at the time plus the fact Alex came across as such a prick but their latitude performance was so much fun I went back & realised I'd been a bit of an idiot that had let others & hype dictate my feelings on them.
TBH I think if they make a couple more solid records they could go down as the closest we've ever had to a Blondie in Britain.

yeah it was latitude that did it for me too. wasnt really fussed by seeing them there but really enjoyed it and hearing all the albums again since made me realise how good they are.

Huge fan of the first two records, but found the third a big disapointment. No You Girls was about the only thing on it that i'd really wanna hear again, though i did like that single from just before the album (erm, i think), L Wells.
I dunno, after all their chatter about "moving forward" and making a completely different sounding record, and the amount of time it took them, i don't think it felt much different at all, and the tunes were weaker. Maybe i should give it another go, after reading the praise here. Its certainly been a while.
They're a quality b-sides band, too. Van Tango, Love and Destroy, Shopping For Blood etc. Really good

the debut- quality, the second one, theres a handful of pure gems on there, ive never heard the third other than lucid dreams which is TOP. but i think i'll try to, dunno why it got flack, just seemed the critical tide or some nonsense had turned around about its release.

I've had a little rollercoaster with them too, loved the debut and expected a brilliant second but felt a little disappointed. I have changed my view a little and The Fallen must be their best song yet. The 3rd didn't do much at first but grew a little. They're as said a lot of fun live, although I've seen 'em too many times. Dig some bsides and L Well too.

Yes! I stand by it, the third album is excellent. The last album was *ahem* not good
