 Yeah read about this the other day, although Khans team have now denied it. They are dragging there heals over signing the Devon Alexander fight so I would imagine there's an element of truth in it. I actually think Khan doesn't do too bad against Mayweather, he'd obviously lose unanimously but I bet he'd go all 12 rounds and he might even knick a couple of them as Mayweather is very tactical and these days he does have a couple of rounds off every fight. Khan is decent against Technicians who aren't power punchers, he's probably one of the few boxers out there with better hand speed than Mayweather, although Mayweathers timing and infinitely superior defence would counter this. As a fight it's one i'd quite like to see but I do agree with the prevailing reaction out there that Khan needs to do more to deserve the shot. If he can beat Devon Alexander in December then why not.
