Wow
Points I think that should be raised -
Ortiz fouled mayweather quite deliberately and was rightly reprimanded Mayweather was right to be pissed off and want revenge Ortiz was being overly sensitive going in for some kind of apology hug Ortiz should have been defending himself on the break of this hug Floyd out of order accepting his apology hug then pushing him away and instantly going for two quick shots against an 'unarmed' ortiz. Ortiz was naive for not going straight into a defensive shape upon breaking with Floyd. The ref was very confused, even though he said/ motioned for them to box on, he hadn't counted the time back in and was not even looking at the boxers, considering his job is to protect them this was massively negligent. Floyd Mayweather is a paranoid maniac, years of critisism (some warrented some unwarrented) have hit him hard, his reaction to Merchant's fairly standard jounalistic critisism of the outcome of the fight was pretty standard and a professional sportsman should be able to deal with this with some competence, Mayweather showed himself up to be a bit of a soft cry baby who can't deal with things that don't go his own way. I think he's one of the greatest boxers of all time but I dearly hope Pac puts him in a coma he doesn't wake up from, what a vile human. Merchant's reaction to Mayweather was hilarious, it was great but I think it's time for him to retire, he's been on the wane for a while. I'd have probably reacted exactly the same to him considering he's such a scummy twat but for a respected journalist to be saying 'if I were 50 years younger i'd beat you up' to one of the greatest boxers of all time is pretty mental!

larry merchant. ortiz should never have got the fight. i argued this a few days ago. well and truly proved right this morning. i blame ortiz and cortez tbh. ortiz behaved like a twat. ridiculous foul. then played the nice guy and got punked. cortez should have done a much better job there. got em together far too quickly after the headbutt.

hahahahhaa, go cry some more eddie. Victor was 17 pounds heavier than floyd. FLOYD BACK ON TOP. MGM Grand, Las Vegas - WBC welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (42-0, 26KOs) was red hot at the post-fight press conference at the MGM Grand. Following his fourth round knockout of Victor Ortiz, Mayweather was obviously mobbed with questions regarding a super-fight with WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao. He doesn't believe Pacquiao legitimately wants to involve himself in a random drug testing protocol. Mayweather refuses to fight Pacquiao unless both boxers undergo a pre-fight random drug testing protocol. Once Mayweather got started with his verbal assault, he held nothing back regarding his feelings on the Filipino superstar. "This boy don't want to fight. All he's just doing is fighting my leftovers. All Pacquiao is doing is fighting my leftovers. I beat Ricky Hatton when he was undefeated. After I beat Ricky Hatton then they go and fight him. I beat [Oscar] De La Hoya at the weight that he chose. He chose the weight, he chose the gloves. He beat De La Hoya at a weight he hadn't made in twelve years. They say Shane Mosley's best performance was when he fought Antonio Margarito. I beat him and they say he's over the hill. But then after knocking Antonio Margarito out, a guy who got caught cheating, who's with Bob Arum, and should have been banned from the sport for good. You know how it is," Mayweather said. "I don't take anything away from Marquez. He's fighting Marquez and we know Pacquiao got his ass kicked twice. We already know this. I took two years off and fought Marquez. They said you're too big for Marquez, but you're not too big for Pacquiao and they're the same size. I just don't understand it. They said they offered me a certain amount of money. How can they offer me anything? I do the offering. Pacquiao has a boss. He has to get his business in order. When he fights, he gives up 30 percent of his check, I get 100 percent of the revenue. I don't need Pacquiao. Every time I go out there I'm going to make $70 million. I don't need Pacquiao." "Where was he in 96, 97, 98, 99, 2000, 2001 when I was dominating the game. Now when I'm 34 they say this guy wants to fight. They didn't ask me when I was in my twenties or when I was in my teens. I tell you reporters the same shi* over and over and over again. If were to go up right now to heavyweight and compete with the Klitschkos, you would say 'Floyd Mayweather is on something.' But a man goes up from 105 to 154 and you say 'oh, it's all natural.' C'mon man, wake up. " "Pacquiao is famous because he is attached to my name. When they say Pacquiao, they say that's the guy they are trying to get to fight Floyd Mayweather. When they say Floyd Mayweather - they say that's an all-time great." OWNED The really irritating thing about all that is that you can't really argue with it.

Still think Floyd bitched out of the negotiations last time round though, Pac conceeded a lot but Floyd put more and more obstacles in the way of the fight. Fingers crossed it comes off this time round, can't see why it shouldn't. I'd back Floyd against Pac definately, would be an epic fight for sure. PLEASE PLEASE GOD MAKE IT HAPPEN

OWNED fight some of his leftovers then floyd. cotto, margarito, clottey (better than ortiz). he's boasting about how much he's getting. pac is selling more tickets than floyd. fighting more often and no1 in virtually every sane persons p4p list. pac was in the lighter weight classes in all the years he mentioned. mayweather has always been in the higher divisions since up to 2008. pac has never failed a drugs test. so fuck u floyd.

Mayweather is a boxing genius. There is no doubt that he'd beat Pac. My old man whos watched boxing since the 60's and knows his stuff thinks Mayweather is a class above. Your talking about one of the greatest fighters in the history of boxing. You cannot beat him.

Your talking about one of the greatest fighters in the history of boxing. You cannot beat him. i agree he's a terrific talent. but why won't he fight a sergio martinez. an excellent southpaw boxer. they could do it at 154 or i'm sure martinez would agree to 150 catchweight. a much better fighter than victor ortiz. it's all about the money with floyd.

i think we should put larry merchant in a time machine and drag his younger self back to fight floyd. hed back hiz shit up.
When he said if ortiz wants a rematch i'll give him one I was hoping ortiz would sucker punch him, count to 10, whisper i won, and toss some condoms on floyd telling him to protect himself.
The guy is unquestionably one of the greats, but he cant take an ounce of criticism, which probably helps him in terms of ethic and really probably started letting larry have it cause the crowd was all over him. what he did was outside of "etiquette" but it really just was a way of cutting down a successful work day. i hated the move but the crowd wants to see a KO, they got one and bitched. I do think Pac is the most dangerous fighter he'd ever go up against and if they fight and he defeats him, Floyd ought to retire cause there will always be that one guy everybody thinks he needs to fight. Hes the fastest gun in the west and no ones caught up to him yet
