Love it when this happens, the best example for me Was probably....
Kill bill- wasnt a massive fan of tarintino previous to this, ditto uma thurman. Then the basic concept of the film - Kung Fu, bits of Japanese animation, even the yellow suit for some reason -all turned me off watching it or even wanting to watch it. But then flocking through the channels one night started watching and thought it was great, loved the cartoon bits, just thought the whole thing was class.....
The second sort of involves Adam sandler. Now I can't stand Adam sandler, just seems to play the same goofball part in every film. Yeah here's another Adam sandler film just like the last one. Great. I've never watched an Adam sandler film, he might be an actor of range and versatility with a catalogue of amazing films but, nah, not for me. And I used to think the same about Ben stiller until I watched 'meet the parents' and subsequently changed my whole viewpoint of him to that where im a bit of a fan. EspeciAlly that film and also 'zoolander'. Maybe one day I'll dig Adam sandler.
The saw films aswell and the American office

Dragons Den. TV like this never ever appeals to me but for some reason I found myself really into it for a while. Kind of worn the concept out now but for a while I'd never miss an episode.
& film wise probably 2001: A Space Odyssey. Though I'd liked the Kubrick films I'd seen prior to this from what I'd read & heard about this picture I thought it might be a bit pretentious & arty for my tastes but I absolutely loved it.

Definitely me too Another one is Come Dine with Me, don't love it to the point where i need to watch it but if its on i watch it. Didn't think i'd like anything involving cooking tbh Finally Lost and House, never really been into US TV (apart from their comedy) so they were a nice suprise. My prejudice against Non Comedy US Tv though means i've never seen 24 etc

Love/Hate might be strong words, but I was surprised by A Devil Wears Prada. Love would more appropriately suit Life is Beautiful. As a young man, I didn't think there was a chance in hell a foriegn film about a concentration camp would be as good as my girlfriend claimed. She nearly dragged me into the cinema, and I say god damn. That was a great film.

lord of the rings. my cousin wanted to see it and i thought it was going to be torture, but i quite liked it and we saw all of them together.
scott pilgrim vs. the world. i had initially thought the trailer looked too stupid but that never stops me anyway and i immediately loved it from the first scene.
the hangover. also from the trailer i never wanted to see it until it got so much press i decided to watch it. i now heart zach galifianakis.

i thought modern family would be shit, now it's pretty much my favourite show currently on television.
thought i'd hate lost in translation judging by the trailer, probably one of my favourite movies ever.
