i don't know much about this audiophile bollix, but surely converting FLAC to mp3 defeats the point somewhat? unless you have a bunch of files that you want to listen to that just so happen to be FLAC of course.

should probably have read bazzle's post that actually explained his exact motivations before making mine, tbh.

aye, it's a techno comp that i can't find for download in mp3 but i have downloaded it in FLAC. ideally i'd like to be able to listen to it in itunes so i can hook it up to the apple tv to play nice and easy through the home cinema and get some booming sound'n'shit but if that isn't possible, i'll have to go to mp3.
cheers for the link bakester, looks good, will try that out.

DBpoweramp is one of the easiest and best program for audio conversion. Get a cracked version from just about any torrent site and you're golden.
Flacs on the PC, sure, but if you want iPod/iTunes or just about any other portable player you need to convert them. You can go lossless on the iPod, but FLAC would still need to be converted to ALAC (Apple Lossless).

I use Media Monkey. It's awesome for scoring flac files
