wondered why he was bigging up bring the light in the metro this morning. figures. Usually when you open up for an act, you tend to also happen to enjoy the act you're supporting. It's not exactly some massive scheme. ;D What a lot of rubbish, you support a band because your label tells you to and which band supports you is decided by whose label pays the most. That Miles Kane song posted in here is dreadful.

All depends regarding support, plenty of reasons. Either way it doesn't matter because all the madferits will just stay in the pub for an extra couple of pints instead.

No, his solo stuff completely sucks, granted Ive only heard one song. Give Inhaler another listen, its not bad man. His new single "come closer" is fucking great. > roller ;D Yea, I dont really care for that too much. Its not the worst thing Ive ever heard, but its like musical wallpaper. Id see him if he opened for Beady Eye here, but I dont think he's much solo, at least from what Ive heard so far. I really like his contributions to LSP, if they are solely his, which I doubt a bit.

I understand it has to do with record labels and business arrangements and that but that doesn't change the fact that, in order to make business sense, the opening act and the headliner will often have a similar sound/fanbase/label/friendship/some sort of fucking connection. Now, the real question here is, why are u so mad?

Uh no, lots of times the headliner doesn't even know the the opening act and even more times the opening act is fucking garbage and the headliner is not

Uh no, lots of times the headliner doesn't even know the the opening act and even more times the opening act is fucking garbage and the headliner is not This. Here in Colombia there's a shitty unwritten law that states that when an international act comes to play, a local act must open. Why's that shitty, you ask? Cause Colombia has no fucking local act that doesn't make 99% of the population want to gouge our fucking eyes out with a spoon full of sulfuric acid is why. So, 99.9% of the times there's no "sort of fucking connection" between the opening act and the headliner, it's just decided by the promoters themselves.

Tbf there are about a thousand and fucking three different factors in support slots being booked, promoters have their shout, the headline band's booking agent has his shout, the headline band may have handpicked a tour support or local support themselves, the label might have someone out on a promo tour, or any mixture of these. There's no right or wrong answer other than that that Miles Kane tune is absolutely gash.

Standing Next to Me is his, and it's the best song on that record. Not getting involved in this argument because theres a million and one reasons why support bands get slots and because im not gonna be able to see beady eye so i dont really care. but i didnt know that was a miles kane song, and its ridiculously good, for mine the out and out highlight of the last shadow puppets album so im suprised, but just wanted to share that that song owns.

One of my favorite tunes. Brilliant song. Let's hope there's another one or two of those hiding on his solo album somewhere...
