Nice post from krburg. Out of interest who in this thread subscribes to Sky Sports, and how do you feel about funding their coverage, and more importantly their football agenda? I do, but through Virgin Media tbh But as Andy said, it's a case of having to if you want to watch the footy (and the darts) unless you want to watch shitty online streams or go the pub for every game. If we were all worried about "funding agendas" we'd never buy a newspaper.

I actually wear a flat cap and have a rather fetching tweed blazer to boot, proper Englishman me. Listen I don't think anyone is in agreement with the remarks regarding the female linesman, they are just stupid and archaic opinions, and both Keys and Gray are fucking idiots and i'm not arsed either way that they have gone. However, chatting amongst friends at work, people who they have worked with for years and who they trust, about stupid banter, off screen, obviously well before any game has started is a different matter and my point stands, like any of us hasn't sat around with mates and said something along the lines of 'did you smash it?', who cares if they are in the media, they were stitched up, what are they supposed to not talk like normal when they're off camera, the minute the turn up at a ground they must be 'on', thats just bollocks and unrealistic. Sky Sports are massive fucking hypocrites, a corporation that promotes, more than any other, a laddish, chauvinistic mindset what with its harem of easy on the eye girls glamming up sky sports news and Soccer Am and Soccer Saturdays 'weeeaaahhh laaaaddss' approach, then lambasts two of its long term employees for acting exactly like that in environments where its clearly promoted, reeks of hypocrisy. I'm not a fan of Gray in particular and Keys has always been a deflated flan so i'm not arsed that they have gone, but they have been royally stitched up by a corporation and a media that one minute wants the Sex & The City and Loose Woman generation to rule with woman empowering themselves by acting like blokes and the next minute condemn blokes for playing up to it. colossal post. I don't think they were sacked because of the banter stuff, it just made it a lot easier for Sky to do it. Sexism is quite an act of discrimination. And who knows, there were probably some woman/en on the channel that thought that it was a good chance to get rid of them and it probably was some struggle for power there too. Did anyone like them? Footballers, other journalists, fans?

Sian Massey will miss another game this weekend due to all the attention.
Seems as though Keys and Gray aren't the real losers of this episode.

Has the FA told her not to work this weekend or has she decided against it?

The 25-year-old was due to referee the Blue Square Bet North match between Corby Town and Eastwood on Saturday.
But the Professional Game Match Officials group decided to pull her off the game after consulting with Massey.
"The focus needs to be on the match not the officials," a PGMO spokesman said. "It would be unfair on the clubs."

The F.A are so completely clueless. She's officiating a fucking blue square North game. Will probably be 500 people there. Even if she was doing a premier league game it's the wrong decision.
If this is the case then perhaps after big Ron's comments the premiership should of dropped all black players for a week. [/Henry Debate of the day]

[/Henry Debate of the day] Or maybe just Desailly In terms of football in this day and age she's far far far more of a minority than a nig nog. With the media storm as well the attention will be on her as well, they've got little choice till it dies down tbh

The thing is the press will hound her wherever she goes on the streets until she officiates her next game which of course the spotlight will be all on her. The sooner she gets back to work the quicker this situation will probably die. The longer it goes on the less she will probably want to go back to work.
Do they think if she has a month off nobody will notice when she comes back?
I'd laugh if she jacked it in due to lack of support from the F.A... sold her story to the daily Star and got her tits out then revealed she was payed more than she could earn in 10 years as an official.

Just for a laugh, Sky should get Stan Collymore in to do the first televised game without Gray
