Well of course me, you & everybody else here wants the BDI record to be great but it's just common sense than most likely Noel's record will be better than BDI's.

You're suprising me here Karl. What are you gonna say next? That Wintersox is shit? Well it's just common sense ain't it? I'm still in team Liam and always will be & would love for them to come out with a great record that matches anything Oasis have done in the past 10 years or so & blows Noels record (that features guest appearances from fran Heeley and the bloke from Coldplay) away but chances are it's not gonna happen is it. I'm just not getting my hopes up very much. I'm not going to come on here and pretend its amazing then 3 years down the line laugh at the fact I ever thought it was any good like we all did with Heathen Chemistry. If I had to lay money on it I'd guess the BDI record will be alright, 3/4 really good moments, a bunch of forgettable ones and 1 or 2 complete stinkers but hopefully they are all golden.

Common sense it's what I was talking about. But always thought mahoney was the kind of colonel that makes motivational speeches to keep the troop's spirit high, come hell or high water.

Noel's will obviously be better, but the only problem to me is: can he sing a full album, especially on rockers. That's where Beady Eye have the advantage: Liam can turn an ok song into a classic with his voice, but Noel cant.

Do you think he'll have many rockers on his solo LP? I don't think he will. He does a good job on stuff like Full On vocally. Obviously not as good as if Liam was on the track but thats the problem us madferits will face now there is no Oasis, we have to have a gem penned song with liams vocals or a noel penned song with noels vocals
I think this is what will hurt us madferits the most when we have both records, every time being able to say 'if only liam was on this', 'if only Andys songs were replaced with Noels'

I always looked at the SOTSOG demos disc as a Noel solo album, and he does a pretty decent job on some of those rockers (especially considering they're demos.)

Liam should have sung it. Same with Lord dont slow me Down. On the other hand, Mucky Fingers would have been shit with Liam. I cant imagine a Noel solo record with a few rockers like those really, i dont think it'll be all ballady and mellow.

noel is fucking dreadful and borderline unlistenable on anything remotely rocky. saying that, i think his solo album will be a lot more experimental than most of us would like to give him credit for

Can't agree with you Baz. If Liam had never been in Oasis I severely doubt anybody would ever label Noels vocals as borderline unlistenable. Sure he's not a great vocalist & nobody would be praising him for his vocals but he's hardly terrible. Just because Oasis were gifted with one of the alltime great voices doesn't mean Noel's are no good.
I'd argue that Noel never sounded as bad on any Oasis recording as Liam does on that new BDI B-side.

Shut up dimlo, your avatar doesn't work. You rate Noel on Full On. He's pretty solid, it's by no means a bad vocal. He can't quite reach where he wants to be on 'But no-one knows why there's a spirit in the sky' but its hardly a shocker. As somebody who has been a big fan of bands like The Charlatans & New Order for years I've heard my fair share of weak vocals. Noel has a decent enough voice to just about pull off Rockers, it's only the fact he was in the same band as Liam that everybody has to put a spotlight on his voice.

I've thought about Noels LP quite a bit & thought about if he gets a great producer in or surrounds himself with great musicians but the more I think about it after the new era Oasis or only getting 60'odd% Noel songs I'll be really glad to hear 12 penned songs that are completely Noel's vision.
It probably won't come out until 2015 anyway so he'll have ages to come up with the goods.
