OK well I'm done with this one, the hypotheticals are meaningless as it all started with me giving it a cheeky "I'd love to have Bellamy or Ireland" and nothing else.
On a more serious note though, Everton - 8th, Newcastle - 10th.

On a more serious note though, Everton - 8th, Newcastle - 10th. now you're being very silly, theres an obvious and massive gulf in class between the two clubs and that'll translate to a lot more that 2 places. arteta, bilylatedinov, cahill, fellaini, osman, pienaar, rodwell is a midfield as good as anyone in the league. take out osman and you dont have a single player in your midfield anywhere near that class.

Liverpool FC are delighted to confirm the signing of Christian Poulsen after the midfielder put pen to paper on a three-year deal. The 30-year-old, who has been capped 77 times by Denmark, arrives from Italian giants Juventus and will wear the No.28 shirt. Poulsen has previously worked with Roy Hodgson at FC Copenhagen, where he was given his first big break by the current Reds boss.

Not entirely sure we even needed to replace Masch because I'd really like to see Aquilani get a regular starting place but even so, good signing IMO.

Spurs have been linked with the entire planet and signed no one. It's like that every year, it's how we roll. I still remember the Stoichkov and Ortega rumours from the mid-90's

Ariel Ortega, what a champion. On the Masch issue, I wonder how much tax has to do with this.

Celtic have approached Manchester City over a loan switch for their out-of-favour Welsh striker Craig Bellamy. He has been left out of City's squad for next week's Europa League qualifier against Timisoara, despite there being room for two more players in the pool. Celtic manager Neil Lennon confirmed on Thursday that the Scottish club had contacted City with a view to taking the 30-year-old back to Parkhead. Bellamy was at Celtic on loan from Newcastle in 2005, scoring nine goals. "When you see someone of the calibre of Craig and the fact that he's not in the 25 and he's looking to go out and play football, then we feel it's something that we can't try and miss out on," said Lennon. "We've been speaking to his representatives and we've been speaking to Man City. How far down the line we are will be down to Craig obviously.

Oh and Iain, you're just bitter because Rangers have absolutely zero chance of signing anyone remotely close to the calibre of Bellamy at the moment. Scottish football may be in a very bad way but at least Celtic can still make things happen and attract the big names. ;D

Roy made this player, he's probably one of his favourites in the game, he's also probably the dirtiest player in the game. Direct replacement for that argie twat then?

If Bellamy has to go (and it bothers me that Mancini doesn't seem to want him), I'd prefer to see him at Celtic, as I worry he'll come back to haunt us if he stays in England.
And everything I've heard is that Ireland will go to Villa in the Milner deal. Which also makes me sad, since he's one of the few left that came up through our youth squad. I love having money to spend on anyone, but it'd be nice if there were at least a *couple* of homegrown talents left.
