What's the point of having a transfer window deadline hour/date if you're allowed to finish and make a deal AFTER THE TRANSFER WINDOW DEADLINE FFS
Stupidity if he ends up signing at this point.

I went away for a few hours and come back and Aberdeen have LOANED Ricky Foster (bombscare) to RANGERS (champions) who in turn have given us a striker (decent)... Even though we need fullbacks, any fullbacks, we literally have none. And Foster is a fullback. This move makes no sense. In a way I'm happy as I feel we have gotten the better player in if we can keep Velicka fit. BUT we now have 8 strikers. And literally only 4 defenders, all of whom are centre backs. We play 4-5-1 We need ANY fullback in. The manager has been going on about it all summer. Yet on transfer deadline day we loan our only two recognised fullbacks out to other clubs Hope McGhee has a free agent up his sleeve that we can sign after tonight.

"making sure the fine print is all in order" or "the transfer has been complete, just a backlogged FA office" etc... It's a slippery slope these special exemptions. BENJANI - "Oooh ermm, I fell asleep in Southampton airport!" Now that one, is an legitimate reason. ;D

In this case they should have done the same Real Madrid did. They told the Spanish Football Federation to change the deadline from 18h to 0h because they needed more time. A fucking joke!

So are Stoke doing this whole thing right then? Finishing mid-table last season, getting in tons of players and from what i've heard play in a rocking, hard place to play (COLD TUESDAY NIGHT AWAY AT STOKE, ETC...).
They're not gonna do a Portsmouth are they? any insight on their infrastructure.
I don't much of what goes on there past what happens on the field except that they've got a manager that head-butts his own players in the nude in the showers, which already gets thumbs ups from me IMO.

I'm not sure what to think yet, I'll wait to see how he slots into the team but we certainly could do with the experience and a leader. Since Webster left our squad has been a bit sloppy and complacent. Daly's a poor captain too. Casalinuovo has gone to Hamilton. Sandaza and Myrie-Williams have left by mutual consent too. Both showed a lot of promise but Sandaza was constantly injured and MW didn't show enough consistency although he was a good impact sub with his pace and trickery. Shame.

I presume you'll be playing Severin at centre back? When he left us he was already slower than Davie Weir on valium, but it didn't matter so much when we moved him to centre back as he still has a decent reading of the game. For his first two years I loved Severin. When he was in his prime I definitely reckon he was worth a regular spot in the national team. But that just made his demise into lazyness and shiteness make me hate him... He had a really poor attitude in his last two seasons at Pittodrie (when he was captain ffs). Fair enough a lot of it is unsubstantiated heresy but you could see it on the park. Also, you'd see him out on town weekly absolutely rat arsed and always standing outside with a cig in his mouth. Hardly the greatest crime, but when you're playing as badly as he was its not the wisest move. So if its leadership you're looking from him, I just hope he's bucked up some of his ideas and his failure in England has woken him up a bit. It does make our next game all the more tastier though. Roll on 9/11.

£17.25m. the fee is a little bit on the low side tbh. great move for him. just disappointed he behaved like a bit of a cunt towards the end. hope sergio keita keeps him on the bench tbh. ;D £17.25m is just what the BBC have been wrongly reporting all along. It was actually £19.8m (€24m) as confirmed by Barcelona today. £7m profit.
