Anyone seen 'em, they look promising like. Supporting Arcade fire at Hyde Park and playing NME tour. Hoping to see them at t in the Park this summer if they get booked. Worth checking though.

I saw the Walkmen at Leeds festival last year, was early and I was pissed and they played class, was a fucking sweet day that. I like what I've heard on record too like by the vaccines, but suppose I ain't seen 'em live to compare against

Just got tickets to see them in Manchester in April, they're playing the Ritz which is a great little venue and if their career carries on the way it looks like doing it's unlikely you'll see them in a place like that for a while. Not totally decided on what I think of them but they're decent at the very least.

I'm liking them a bit tbh, seem like a revisited soft version of the Ramones, they certainly have a retro Spector sound in their melodies that I really dig. There was another thread about them though

Had the album on the other day. Thought it was decent. Nothing revolutionary or even mildly life-affirming, but some good rocky tunes with decent melodies. Some of the lyrics made me cringe, but yeah, no bad overall Can't really see why the NME are bumming them so royally mind, as bands like these are pretty much ten-a-penny atm. They're not "saviours" of fuck all, just a band with a decent record. There's nothing new or challenging about it, or even interesting really

Yeah good record, nothing life changing and agreed the lyrics sometimes leave a fair bit to be desired, but plenty of solid ones and a few really good ones. Looking forward to seeing them this Sunday, there should be a good buzz about the place too.

I finally listened to this today, since they're opening for arctic monkeys when I see them in a few weeks. Unfortunately the thought popped into my head around halfway through the album, and I can't get it out: shit glasvegas. Which isn't necessarily a terrible thing, since I liked their first album, but still...the NME can stop the hype train any day now.
