It seems like it's non stop gigging for three days and sleeping in a double bed in a private en-suite air con'd room What's not to get excited about? can't imagine the place to have to much of an atmosphere. I wouldnt like to spend the whole day without being able to take a rest (as buses to Barcelona/your motel will take too long), having to drink overpriced san miguel, it seems a bit soulless to me mate.

Big question about the festival. Can you buy beer inside the arena and watch the bands whilst drinking? Many european festivals now have drinking areas I seriously just wouldn't bother going if that was the case.

it's not that bad! Unless the friend whos going every year and is unsuccessfully trying to convince me to join her is lying.
but still, you're pretty much stuck to buying the overpriced drinks in the arena all day as you can't just quickly go to your tent to hang out- doesnt sound like too much fun.

Sounds interesting the guy.

we will have seperate smoking areas in finland next summer it's gonna be ridiculous plus this one festival banned alcohol on the area last summer, result was most alcohol related poisonings ever as people just drank everything they had with them at the gates

Alcohol is banned in most gigs though I recently watched the Iron Maiden documentary Flight 666 about their world tour and the Argentinian & Columbian gigs looked fucking crazy. I think it was Columbia that had the Army treating the gig goings like shit on the way in, taking away any cameras, pushing them on the way into the venue. Then Argentina the crowd was fucking apeshit The craziest mother fuckers I've ever seen. Some bloke at the end of the gig started crying tears, beautiful moment.

I don't know, I've definitely heard of a few before infact somebody on here was on about one last year, no idea what though. Apparently you could 'see the stage from the drinking area; but still couldn't take your drinks out of it. Anyway, any festival that you can't bring your own drink in and drink it where you like can fuck off.

What festivals in the UK let you bring your own drink and drink it where you like other than Glasto? The split camping and music area at T is a fucking farce.

There is quite a few smaller festivals (under 5,000 capacity) but Glastonbury is the only major one that I'm aware of that'll let you do it. I'd like to do another tiny festival. The one I went to in Wales in 06 was fucking crazy. Was probably only maybe 2,000 people there was a real good atmosphere, no security at all. Everybody just did what the fuck they wanted. I only went because they booked the Jonestown.
