I think it was falling apart and was deemed unsafe or something. Have you seen Macca's solo show there from a few years back Andy? Meant to be decent. He does the thumbs-up an everything

I haven't seen it actually, might have to have a browse for it shortly. I knew the original Cavern was supposed to be in a bad way but surely they could have fixed it up? Where are Colin and Justin when you need them?

The Cavern thats there now doesn't stand in the same spot as the original does it? Wasn't it torn down and replaced by some kind of ventilation system or something, its been a few years since I was there, can't remember correctly. But the Cavern that stands now is an exact replica of the interior but next door? this i lived in liverpool for 6 years, and matthew st (and the cavern in particular) on a weekend night was always full of cunts and tourists. |
