I was thinking of going to V this year, has anyone been?
If so iv got a few questions..........
What's the difference between Hylands Park and Weston Park? Which is the best one to buy a ticket for? I was thinking of just buying a day ticket, do you think this is wise? If so, which day is best?

People slag it off but I think it would be right up your street. I only swerve it these days because I have done it to death and bump into too many people I know/dislike.
Hylands park is alright. I don't suppose anyone will have been to both. Just go to whichever one is nearer.
Day ticket sounds fine but fuck knows how you would get home unless you drove. Last time I went on a day ticket, a weekends a bit too much V for me tbh.

i used to go to v every year when i was younger. not really my cuppa tea these days obvs cos its mainstream as fuck but am actually thinking of going again this year as arctic monkeys, the libertines, beady eye and rem are all rumoured. looks as if arctics and eminem are headlining 100% anyway.
only ever been to hylands park in chelmsford though. apparently weston park in stafford has a slightly better crowd as hylands is full of big brother contestants and eastenders actors.
always think it gets a bit of an unfair press really though. its an ok festival if you take it for what it is. always enough bands there to have a good time with some mates but yeah the lineup has a lot of shite each year too and theres nothing else to do other than the music.

& I had a dance next to Jade Goody to the Zutons in 06.
Agree with what Magneto said. If the lineup is alright then V can't really fail.

its good for a bit of celeb spotting
i stood next to colleen rooney whilst watching sugababes in 2006. also walked past holly willoughby in 2005 but i didnt know who she was back then, my bird had to explain. really upsets me now cos id have had a squeeze on her boobs nowadays.
also vfestival was the seen of the magic moment where karl mahoney danced with jade goody RIP

btw on top of the arctics/beady eye/libertines/rem rumours this year, primal scream also look likely to be doing screamadelica there too.
could be the best vfest lineup ever. properly am tempted.

I wouldn't recommend Weston Park. Went there in 2003 and was my least favourite festival i've been to (have been to leeds, glastonbury, MOVE, kendal calling).

2003 was probably my greatest ever vfestival. was a huge group of us, i was 18 and felt cool as fuck. saw pj harvey, super furrys, evan dando, the coral, the stands, the zutons, the bees, the basement, i am kloot amongst others. and probably one of my greatest decisions of all time seeing TIM BURGESS SOLO over qotsa. also i met inspiral carpets and i was wearing a bob marley tshirt that apparently liam gallagher was also wearing back stage. clint boon wrote LIAM GALLAGHER WANNABE all over my poster he was signing

It was huge.
I remember leaving The Streets on the main stage, and Oasis were on there next so it was getting quite busy. I remember legging it to see Doves then SFA OK.
I was too smashed on the other day to remember much. Some random pillheads managed to convince me that Scissor Sisters had pulled out of their headline slot so Kiss replaced them.
