Like all recent Radiohead albums it's definitely a grower, the songs take plenty of listens to reveal themselves. Still this is definitely good, and again has a very different feel to their other stuff. At the moment doesn't top In Rainbows though.

i gave in rainbows another try the other day but still found it pretty dull. i dont think ive ever wanted to like an album as much as that one but it just doesnt do it for me in most parts.
this new one is loads more interesting though, at times its like a four tet record with thom providing guest vocals. im loving the lack of guitars.

A few songs haven't really clicked but Lotus Flower, Little by Little, Seperator and Codex are highlights right now. First two tunes probably are the weakest which doesn't help things.

I think every track, bar Feral, is at least 8/10. For only an 8 track record, its absolutely fucking sublime. Its stronger than In Rainbows and Lotus Flower alone is better than anything on In Rainbows.
The one negative is that it feels like "Thom Yorke featuring Radiohead". I'm interested in seeing the liner notes to see what the rest of the guys did. I do like when they use Ed on backing. I dont think theres one other voice on this thing.
9/10 record

My rating
Bloom - 7/10 Morning Mr Magpie - 7.5/10 Little By Little 8/10 Feral - 6/10 Lotus Flower 10/10 Codex - 7/10 Give Up the Ghost - 7/10 Separator 8/10
Having played this like 20 times or so it's solid. Don't think it's better than In Rainbows but good nonetheless. All the songs really grow on you obviously. Like JP said the lack of instruments ala guitars is nice. Definitely think it's better than The Eraser though. I find Radiohead sinking deeper into this hole of the last 2 albums and I don't mind one bit....

First two months of the year have been pretty solid overall.

Is alright. Like everything else they've done since Kid A, Decent with a few moments of genuine quality yet not anywhere near good enough to warrant all the attention it'll no doubt get.

But it's Radiohead, they could record nature sounds and release it as an album and it'll still get to all the magazines top 10
