anyone else get a Bon Iver vibe off of Give Up The Ghost? Cause that's what I thought of immediately. Still great though....

You can't fit that much music on 2 10" vinyls. This really is the whole thing. I haven't had a chance to listen to it yet Ryan Adams' Love Is Hell is on two 10 inch vinyls and it's 15 tracks. Plenty of room left over for a 7-track EP or whatever part II might be.

Thats the standard retail edition which is out in March. The newspaper edition is sold via the band directly and isnt even out until May.

aye, but can't see any reason why it should be any different to the "normal" version apart from the packaging. it's funny how people keep fooling themselves if their favourite band releases something they didn't actually expect/enjoy

It does feel like the people desperately trying to draw up a part II or a second disc are only doing so due to being so disappointed with the release.

The newspaper edition is the one advertising 2 vinyl's + a CD which is where some people think more music is coming from.

absolutely. it's great that some people are so disappointed with this album that they're deluding themselves there's some magic follow-up on the way that will make it all make sense. a bit like when kid a came out and a lot of people thought everything would be alright and amnesiac would be the bends 2.
i'm really enjoying this album for the record, understated and atmospheric. never gonna be my favourite radiohead record, but for me it's a very satisfying extension to kid a/amnesiac and i like it a whole lot. 8/10.

btw, what was that Tokyo twitter message all about in the end? They screen a video or something?

btw, what was that Tokyo twitter message all about in the end? They screen a video or something? It was set up to announce the album release, and hundreds of fans turned up. Then Radiohead cancelled at the last minute, due to "security fears" Apparently that's why they punted out the album a day early, to make it up to the fans who wasted time and money on, erm, nothing

Any other rumours for it? I've not even put any thought into what will be at latitude this year.

not much in terms of solid rumours so far this year. suede/elbow/adele/radiohead/rem have all been touted as possible headliners. we are scientists, foals and chapel club are all down as strong rumours on efestivals.
should only be a couple of weeks til we find out, normally the announcement is early march

Cool. Doubt I'll be going this year but if the lineup is really good I could be tempted.
2nd day of hop farm was put up on songkick and removed real quick. Morrissey/Stooges/Lou Reed. Will definitely be going if it's those 3.

yeah i saw that hop farm thing. friday looks terrible but cant complain with the saturday.
latitude im not so fussed with this year, will go anyway cos its close to me and will always have plenty of bands i like. first announcement for it always seems a bit shit though dont think they book the best bands they could higher up the bill but lower down theres normally plenty of gems.
most looking forward to the V ANNOUNCEMENT on monday. if the rumours are true and beady eye/arctic monkeys/the libertines/primal scream are all there then so am i.

Does anyone care about this album 3 weeks on?
There seems to be zero buzz and hype for it. Can an album that's not released through traditional means flop?
I listened once and bar Lotus it was fucking rubbish. Just wondering what the fanbois think tbh.
