don't see any problem with only 8 tracks, plenty of incredible albums are under 10 tracks long. seriously can't wait for this, plus doubly excited because at work we did some neuro-granular sampling work a while back that radiohead were involved with, wonder if any of that made it onto the record. gonna do the in rainbows rating thing just to get myself even more excited.
15 steps - 9 bodysnatchers - 8 nude - 7 weird fishes/arpeggi - 10 all i need - 8 faust arp - 7 reckoner - 9 house of cards - 9 jigsaw falling into place - 7 videotape - 8

2 songs a side on the vinyl records? Must be long songs, eh? Love Is Hell is the only album I have on 10'' and there's four songs a side on that one.

I reckon they might release a B sides album like they did with In Rainbows. That would make more sense, I can't see them just releasing 8 songs after 3 years.

They could be lengthy songs though Abs or work as a kind of conteptual piece or something, surely people wont be peeved if they release a 45 minute album with 8 songs as apposed to a 45 minute album with 12 songs? Loads of great albums are only 8 or 9 songs

8 songs is thin. 9 or 10 songs is an album. on what grounds, exactly? an album is an album. i can think of plenty of fantastic albums with less than 5 tracks ffs.

I always thought anything less than 8 was an Ep??? I am actually curious about some albums that are that short. I mean its so pointless. Oasis released 15 albums then!

Ah true, a b-sides album would make sense. Good call Abs.
So what is the time distinction between an EP and an LP? Does amount of tracks play into as well? Just wondering because there are obviously 8 track albums from popular bands, but also 7 track EPs as well.

On closer inspection, that Japanese King of Limbs site looks to be fake.

40 euro for 8 tracks is 5 euro per track. Radiohead are really true revolutionaries when it comes to new scams !!
And one lucky owner of the digital version will win the whole physical package!! SIGNED!! ONE!! This record must cure cancer to be so precious that they can't even give away more than ONE!!

If you base that price on the tracks alone, obviously its not for you. I personally dont want it either. There will be a regular CD/vinyl release just like there was with In Rainbows.

On closer inspection, that Japanese King of Limbs site looks to be fake. it's not fake, it's just not finished yet. the official kingoflimbs.com site directs you to kingoflimbs.jp if you click on china/japan on the map it's 8 tracks, deal with it the news that it's only 8 tracks made me more excited about it. it's gonna be MASSIVE

Who cares if it's 8 tracks? You can bet your mum's tits that'll it'll still be at least 40 minutes long, so what's a rip-off about that? Neil Young's Everyone Knows This Is Nowhere was 7 tracks. On The Beach, 8. Those turned out alreet I bet one or two tracks are over 7 minutes long. BE HERE NOW STYLEE

I really fucking loved that 'These are my twisted words' song they released a while back, kind of meandering Neu! esque rhythm going on, wouldn't mind at all if they headed for that direction.. The first 10 seconds of that are amazing, then imo it goes too dull, but I'm not a Radiohead boy at all. Still I reckon they know how to keep on making wise and surprising moves.
