aye Think i'll be caning this over the weekend. Sounds like it's gonna need a fair few listens before I can really rate it much more. Bits washed over me, others really stood out. A typical modern day 'Head record, then.

^yeah sounds like a grower, and listening to it over speakers in a noisy office probably isn't ideal.
my first impression is that this is the album i was expecting them to release before in rainbows came out. far more ambient and textural.

overall first feelings are that i potentially love it but it sounds more like a thom yorke solo album than a radiohead one.

Yeah, it deffo feels like more of a Thom record. Not complaining though, as i think Eraser is amazing Codex is pretty beautiful. Again, it just sounds like Thom alone on his piano. Give Up The Ghost is possibly even better, and i can't hear much of the rest of the band on that either Two plays through, and i'm into this. Pleasantly surprised

Really looking forward to giving this a listen. Really liked In Rainbows, one of my favourite Radiohead albums.

Tbh i probably would've put These Are My Twisted Words on there somewhere too. To add another more band-like number towards the end. Soundwise i think it would've fit too Dunno about Harry Patch, mind

these are my twisted words definitely would've fit, yeah. could've even been the opening track. i'm not that keen on it though, so i'm glad it isn't on there

Very subdued record. I love Lotus Flower immediately.
Theres nothing bad on it (Feral is kind of eh but I can feel its a grower), but its really moody. I know with Radiohead thats rather par for the course, but this one particularly off of my first listen.

this could have been a pretty cool EP yup. second half of the album is yards better. lotus flower is something else. first half is fine but it has the same problems with radiohead i've had since amnesiac. it seems to lack energy. got it on cycle on itunes and idioteque popped up after the album finished and it was like a punch in the tits, amazing stuff. but at stark contrast with at least half of this album.

Well after one listen, first impressions are very good. Absolutely love Morning Mr Magpie, Little By Little, Lotus Flower and Separator. Bloom was a slightly underwhelming opener but I think I was just waiting for another 15 Steps. The album flowed well and the 8 tracks didn't seem to short at all. 40 minutes is ideal really.
I can tell straight away that this album will be getting played constantly.

this could have been a pretty cool EP it was like a punch in the tits Took me unawares, and just mega-lollered I've got a sneaky suspicion that they might be doing a one-two jab, like they did with Kid A and Amnesiac, and there's another record coming soon. As much as i like this record, it does feel like there's more to it/to come.

Without multitracks, its going to be hard if not impossible to do. The volume could be lowered with some tweaking, but they'll still be heard.
