A thread for anything you are enjoying which perhaps hasn't been mentioned much/at all on the soapbox. Heres a couple of records I've been enjoying. Cake - Showroom of CompassionSaw these at Latitude 3 or 4 years back & really enjoyed them. Had downloaded Fashion Nugget years ago but never really bothered with it. Really enjoyed this, sort of playful pop music along the lines of Eels, SFA & the quirkiness of Divine Comedy. Ringo Deathstarr - Colour TripSaw these support the Pains a couple of years back. The album basically sounds like My Bloody Pains Of Being Pure At Heart. Anyone into that sort of thing will probably enjoy it.

None of these are truly new, aside Young Galaxy, but definitely not mentioned much... Tamaryn - The Waves Very Beach House-y, Mazzy Star-ish, but very good. I found this album after I made my best-of list by reading another list on some website and was very impressed. Young Galaxy - Shapeshifting Electro pop, very intriguing vocals, may be a bit dreary for some. Sounds like it could be on Twin Peaks. Im loving the record though Wye Oak - The Knot This is Wye Oak's first record. Their second comes out very soon. Saw them live a few weeks ago and was pretty much blown away. Kind of a rock/folky sound. And the requisite addition...

Thought that Cake song was a bit boring but I really enjoyed the Ringo Deathstarr track. Downloading their album now, nice one. Sadly the only new music I come across nowadays (especially since my what.cd died) is from here so I can't really recommend anything that hasn't been mentioned on here before. Downloading the Wye Oak album off the back of that track too, it's superb. Keep them coming.

well here's this newish finnish band. their debut is semi-awesome, sometimes it tries a bit too hard, but still am excited to see them live for the first time tomorrow. lyrics are a big part of their appeal, so that's a bit lost on you guys, the melodies and general sound are great anyways, and those are universal things, innit?

Yer Spring is a fucking tune man. Seeds is a really awesome album as well.. although I find the last few songs a bit dull it's still one of the best I heard this year.

I recommend Anna Calvi s/t it's pretty good, pretty dark and it kinda sound like Wye Oak.

Dream Diary - You Are The Beat. In the same vein as The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart/The Orchids/The Field Mice. Wear their influences on their sleeves but really enjoyable stuff. The album's on Sordo.

You really should, they're really not offering anything new to the table but there's at least 3-4 really good tunes and the rest is just solid dreamy pop. It makes the waiting for Belong easier at least.
