Dream Diary - You Are The Beat. In the same vein as The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart/The Orchids/The Field Mice. Wear their influences on their sleeves but really enjoyable stuff. The album's on Sordo. Damn man this is right up my alley! Thanks a lot of the recommendation. Really has the POBPAH sound. This thread has been very good to my ears so far.

Just downloaded that dream diary, look forward to hearing it. Been quite enjoying this record the past week or so. It's by the singer from Lift From Experience who I know Rubbersoulman was a big fan of. If your into your strung-out acoustic songs (kind of ambulance blues vibes) you might dig it. If you are not then this isn't for you. Most the tracks last 10 minutes + Brad might like it.

Really has the POBPAH sound. Sounds exactly/a whole lot like POBPAH, but the latter have more energy so I'm sticking with them.

Enjoying that Dream Diary record. Some really top tunes on there sounds like the middle ground between The Pains & Primal Scream's Sonic Flower Groove. For anyone who may not know Steven Drozd has released a soundtrack record for a documentary film called The Heart Is A Drum Machine. It's mostly instrumentals though there is a bizarre cover of Rocket Man with the singer from Tool on vocals. It's the sort of record that's nice to stick on first thing in the morning or last thing at night. Theres a few tracks which I think are a shame he's used on here as fleshed out a little more they would of probably made classic Flaming Lips tracks. Not essential listening but anyone itching for some new Flaming Lips material may enjoy it.

another new album i haven't seen talked too much about here is the new cut copy. it really is a quite fabulous pop album. need you now is such a perfect opening song and sun god is the same as a closer. the songs in between aren't that bad either. the worst songs are the singles, maybe that's why it's not too hyped?
anyway, great album which is a bit of a surprise. i was sure they would produce a stinker after the megasuccess of in ghost colours.
here's a butchered "single edit":

Lykke Li's new one is a really good pop album too. So glad to see that she wasn't just a one album starlet

Bass Drum of Death – GB City Just gave this a go, like the middle ground between BRMC & Black Lips. Not bad.

Will ave me some of that I'd like to tip my hat to Lia Ices new record. She reminds me of a far more accessible take on Joanna Newsom, and her new jobby Grown Unknown is pretty chuffing lovely in places. Plus she's quite fit

Had a couple of listens. It's decent but not much more. I'll probably forget about it & never hear it again. I take back that I've recommended it. Spent most this morning going through the site I got it from checking the myspaces out, got 6 or 7 records I want to check out so hopefully I'll have some good records to recommend over the next few days,

I liked it, some songs had a decent nice 60s vein that worked with the lofi sound. Still I admit it was a little repetitive, I don't know how I'll think after a few listens... I also dug The Brothers Movement album a lot the first time and then got tired of it quickly

The length of the tracks enitially put me off but it's slowly but surely grown into a record I really like. His voice also seemed a tad bland at first but now I love it. I think you'd find it at the very least decent. Probably up to a solid 8 for me now.

Couple of tracks in - quite enjoying it.
I must admit I usually love this kind of stuff live but rarely venture into putting these types of records.
Will check out the others mentioned also!
Hutcha!
