The get back sessions I have was a 17-disc comp that I gave up on after 2. But there were still some pretty neat things on what I remember hearing on it. Something tells me we wouldn't get anything close to that on a bootleg of the morning glory sessions. The stupid thing is that Oasis were in and out of the studio and had Morning Glory recorded in less time than the first day of the Let it Be rehearsals and the rooftop gig. Of course, you can take that to the extreme and point out that Please Please Me (the album, not the song) was recorded in one day. Download this book - hotfile.com/dl/19334154/25eb76c/ThBeReSe.rar.htmlIt's basically a day-by-day account of the recording sessions of the Beatles, authorised by EMI and researches by going in and listening to almost all of the session tapes. I'd kill for an Oasis equivalent of this, but something tells me that these kind of things aren't catalogued in this much detail like the laboratory-esque EMI Studios of the 60s.

There's actually a bootleg of the Get Back sessions called A/B Road that's 83 discs! True, but you'd have to be certified insane to sit through all of it. Most people don't get through an hour.

The Lewisohn book is excellent (I assume that link is for Complete Beatles Recording Sessions), but for more of a reading experience, the absolute paramount is Revolution in the Head by Ian MacDonald. They really need to re-release the Lewisohn book though. I have an original copy of it from its first pressing and could get a mint for it if I decided to sell it. Theres another Lewisohn book called the Complete Beatles Chronicle, but its different than the sessions book as it focuses on everything in their lives.

I think stuff like this will come out in the UK, but it will be years. The biggest issue is that The Beatles had and still have worldwide appeal. Oasis do not, especially in the USA. Most people here consider them a "90's band" with just one major hit of "Wonderwall" and that "Liam is an asshole" or that "Noel is an asshole" cause they don't know which is which, only that they are brothers.
Of course, I don't view them that way, but generally people in the USA don't have an attention span of more than 12 seconds.

Thanks, Captain Obvious The chance of anything like this being released anywhere is slim. They were a huge UK band, but the Stones, Zeppelin, and many other bands have not had the Anthology treatment. Theres cases of tracks and the occasional bleep or blop of studio outtakes being released, but nothing in any kind of scope outside of the Beatles. The majority of casual Oasis fans cant tell the difference between studio takes and they weren't risk takers in the studio. I think the best we can hope for is the real unique stuff being presented as bonus tracks with reissues, but not much outside of that, if even that. Its really unlikely unless something is truly different and even that will be minimal.

If they did do a deluxe edition of Definitely Maybe, and included a bonus CD, what would we hear? I'm guessing an pretty even split between the Liverpool demos, these early sessions and live stuff. Strange Thing would be a banker, as would any unheard tracks from that era.
So I think it's likely that rarities will someday be released, but I agree with Ben, I think the volume would be minimal. Having said that I do believe bootleg activity has been noticed with Oasis management, which led to a consistent pattern of demo releases from SOTSOG until the end. Maybe if we're all still here when the time comes, they might decide to be a bit more generous with what they let out of the vaults.

I dunno...it depends on a lot of things. I have a bunch of those deluxe editions, mostly pulp, the who, and weller/jam/tsc ones, and they're a mix between b-sides, live discs and outtakes. It's just as likely they'd glom a b-sides disc and chicago 94 on there and call it 'the deluxe edition' as it is we'd get anything that hasn't been released already.

Registered to say thank you - followed a link from Mono's twitter feed. Amazing stuff and having listened to this stuff since 1994 I'm somewhat in shock that a few changes could make the track sound SO different. Fingers crossed for more to come!!!
