It just doesnt seem likely. Im sure some of it will get released, but I doubt it will be anything substantial. Bootlegs are our best bet to get this sort of thing, not the record company. Totally agree. We might get odd outtake or alternative mix, but no record company puts all the alternative stuff out, certainly not over 4 hours worth for one album. Only a raid on the archives or a massive leak gets this kind of stuff out.

Is anyone actually known to have possession of the DIV or BHN sessions? Or any other unreleased songs etc. Sadly I predict no one coming forward and this hope for Ethans discs dying away. Maybe money would entice you? . I know for a fact (as does Mono and Rolli) that someone has or at least has had access to some BHN studio sessions. From what I was told, they're basically like the stuff that Ethan has in respect to DM that this thread is about. He's never stated it publicly and doesn't hold it over anyones head as they're not his to distribute. Outside of that, the DIV sessions are basically a myth right now in terms of public holding. Surely they exist, but anyone outside of Fearless and/or Oasis members having them is unknown. Same goes for things like the Mustique sessions (think Esher Demos for Be Here Now).

The only way I could see it coming out is if/when they do "Deluxe" editions of the records, but even then it wont be a very large scope of things. Oasis' music doesn't really lend itself to it as theres not much change from the genesis of a track in the studio to the final output. Obviously, theres things like Hindu Times which definitely changed from the Noel "demo" to whats on HC, but I imagine anything with Liam wont have changed much to garner a commercial release. If we get any true alternative versions, it'd probably be Noel on vocals akin to the SOTSOG sessions or maybe some Noel sung tracks with Liam on vox akin to the leaked demo of Lord Dont Slow Me Down like that.

Where did the STC, IWLIAD and AGN demos originally leak from btw? This guy named Jamie has a friend within Oasis' circle who had a disc of DBTT early mixes and those songs were on it. He ripped the disc and shared them with some people and they were leaked.

That's exactly how I understand it. The Mustique tape and the DIV session are definitely two of the Holy Grails of Oasis unreleased material. There's god knows how much other stuff as well, only yesterday I was reminded of Noel's story of how he demoed a bunch of songs in America when they were mixing Dig Out Your Soul. Any deluxe releases should be a real treat providing they put some thought into the tracklisting. The less said about the Definitely Maybe DVD and it's collection of live material already in circulation, the better. Real missed opportunity there. Especially when there was lengthy talk about demo tapes and unreleased mixes and boardwalk rehearsals on tape. Get the feeling all that could be Noel's pension though. It took 30 years for the Beatles rarities to begin to be released.

It's amazing what a tonne of reverb can do in the studio, how fucking awfully flat do the drums and guitars sound on these

It took 30 years for the Beatles rarities to begin to be released. Commercially yes, but Beatles bootlegs have existed since the late 60s via vinyl. The advent of digital saw a complete flood of material though. They're arguably the most bootlegged band on the planet, at least in terms of studio material because of the mythology and interest. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kum_BackOasis wouldnt garner 1% of the interest that the Beatles do for their outtakes, but that goes without saying really.

Oasis' lack of studio ingenuity is evident in their demos, but in fairness DM was their first go. Some people definitely care, but unreleased material from Oasis is more interesting to me than rough cuts or random takes of particular tracks. I have a disc of the Beatles doing The One After 909 only from the PPM sessions, and its pretty fucking boring as its 20 some odd tracks of the same song, but the Nagra Reels and Twickenham sessions are another fucking ballpark for the later material and are extremely interesting.

Wasnt DM recorded entirely with another producer first ? Thomas something ?
The most interesting stuff must be Noel demos, that's for sure. And MG, BHN or DM unreleased tracks, if there is indeed any.

Finally Morris was brought on.

Jesus, you'd do well to get a CDs worth of worthwhile material out of that Let It Be stuff. Ironic you mentioned 20 takes of 1963 One After 909 when there's about another 50 takes of it in 1969. Whilst both have undoubted historial value, those rehearsals are the worst bit of Beatles audio since the Decca tape. How the managed to get their shit together for the rooftop performance is amazing. But I guess that's the difference between hearing a band trying and hearing a band going through the motions.

Its interesting for hearing the disintegration of the band, not necessarily musical perspective. Pepper's studio work is probably my favorite of the studio outtakes. I have a similar disc to the One After 909 thing, but its Strawberry Fields instead, starting with John's home demo.

"but its Strawberry Fields instead, starting with John's home demo. "
That is a truly remarkable listen. Even the three tracks they used on the anthology show a pretty amazing step up from the demo to the 'first half' of the final version.
The get back sessions I have was a 17-disc comp that I gave up on after 2. But there were still some pretty neat things on what I remember hearing on it. Something tells me we wouldn't get anything close to that on a bootleg of the morning glory sessions.
