When do we think it'll be out? I know it may seem premature 'cos they've just released their debut but Liam strikes me as the kind of fella who won't want to wait too long to get the 2nd record out.
What do we hope to hear on the 2nd album? I want a heavier record, more stuff like FLW, B&S, BTL, SOTEOTN, TRC etc. Sure, throw a nice breezy acoustic track in there (FO) and a ballad (TBGO) but ultimately, I want a rock & roll album.
Also, let Andy Bell write the lyrics and let him loose on the guitar.
Fuck Noel.

I'd sy within a year. There's been a mention of Beady Eye recording the original soundtrack to Liam-produced Beatles movie in development, but I don't know when that's supposed to be released.

I expect it to sound like a 60's and 70's mainstream rock influenced nostalgiafest with a handful of Liam songs a handful of Gem songs and a handful of Andy songs and it will be 'safely' produced.

I think thats really optimistic. I think it depends on how it all plays out over the next few months. They're going to be touring a lot it seems, prob well into the fall. I doubt Liam hits the recording studio during touring. Id guess late 2012/early 2013 at the earliest.

The BDI boys are gonna hurt you thursday I reckon we'll get that soundtrack, a year & a half of silence then out of the blue the Oasis comeback tour announced for the summer of 2013.

They seem to want to follow up with another record pretty fast. They'll be done touring in july it seems, with a few festival in august. Doubt there will be more dates, theyve done europe, uk twice...
They said they had the songs already, so a month of rest, then start recording in october/november. The earliest bet would be late spring 2012. Unless there's an agreement with Noel to not release an album the same year as him.

Make it 2014 (for the 20th anniversary of DM) and I'd agree with everything mahoney said.
I have to think their management will come up with some sort of beatles/apple early 70s arrangement, where the release dates of BDI, Noel and oasis archival stuff won't overlap. Some oasis thing (live album? Masterplan 2?) for xmas this year, Noel early next year, bdi2 fall 2012/early 2013, maybe another oasis thing thrown in the mix...that sort of thing.
(Of course, Liam being Liam, he'd probably pull the McCartney "I'll finish you all!" bit and release bdi2 on a whim and screw everything up.)

I think Liam really wants to prove that the only thing stopping Oasis from releasing more albums was Noel being lazy, so he'll want to get another one out next year.

Wouldn't be surprised if they have another one out same date next year, but reckon it'll be of the same standard, probably not really an improvement.

I also think they will release something next year, and my hopes are that it will be a little more risky, I'd like to see them out of their comfort zone tbh. Nothing against DGSS, but it wouldn't work twice.

I hope they show a bit more imagination with the lyrics and song themes, especially Liam. his songs (through his whole career) unless I'm mistaken are all about him, his wife and his kids. In fact most of DGSS works as a concept album about about the break up of oasis, liams desire to prove himself and attempts at a reconciliation, which is ok albeit slightly dull and cliche. But Where's the surrealism, characters, plots, 3rd person narratives? For well known ' beatles and stones'obsessives it seems they've missed the point.

Cant see Liam writing stuff like that danscouse. He's all about spontaneity and dont over think things, so it'll always be emotional songs about his life. Gem's always written vague or meaningless songs (that doesnt mean bad). the only one who could write that kinda songs is Andy.

Firstly, that wasn't a 'conclusion' as much as a 'speculation'. The release date i'm speculating based on Noel not being involved and demanding extended vacations and Liam's overstated desire to release lots of music and do less touring ('to keep it special'); it looks like they're only touring until the fall, just in time to go back in the studio (without break) and record and release an album in the exact same span as they did for DGSS. If you're questioning my prediction on the quality of the material, well we've all heard Liam/Andy/Gem's songwriting since 2000 and seen their "evolution". I think the next album will be more of the same, which isn't a bad thing as far as I'm concerned. This is why I liked Oasis/Gallaghers -- I don't have to worry about them Radiohead-ing me. Fewer songs like KFAD/Gem's/Liam's and more of Andy's ala FLW/TBGO/Millionaire and I'll be a pig in shit.
