Fucking love it. Had a listen last night and a listen on my way to work this morning and it's already probably my favourite Elbow album. Fuck the haters/critics saying they've played it safe 'cos I don't hear any safe-playing going on. It's big, it's bold and most importantly, it's full of ambition, one of the reasons I love Elbow so much. Without doubt, one of my favourite bands ever.

I've only listened once and I liked it a lot. "The Birds" is a fantastic opener, and while there may not be anything to match the killer three track run of Starlings - The Bones of You - Mirrorball from the last record, this is probably just as strong over the piece. Looking forward to hearing 30 second loops of each song used to death on the BBC over the next 2 years

About to go buy it....I am well and truly excited, probably moreso than for any other album this year. (yes, including bdi....stop asking.)

Aye I'm liking it just now, like every Elbow album I reckon the first two weeks of listening to it will slowly reveal it as an album that will be my favourite album ever for about a month or so then gradually simmer back down after a while whilst still remaining an excellent listen.
Really liking With Love & Jesus is a Rochdale Girl.

They aren't that similar, that's why. Both Northern with a fat bearded bloke on vocals. Musically they are very different.

Yeah, they're worlds appart, musically.
Elbow are almost 'prog' for me, maybe a bit avant garde? But, they push it just far enough not to end up sounding too far up themselves and not too pretentious.
