Jason has new album coming out this Fall. Last album was a bit patchy but pretty good nonetheless. Thoughts?

Always interested in anything he releases. Songs In A&E turned out to be a big disappointment for me. Those Acoustic Mainline gigs were really something special plus the things he was saying in interviews led me to believe it was going to be a magical LP. Unfortunately, it ended up being a little middle of the road in places. Decent with some strong moments but it's not a record I will return to very much.
Anything mentioned on what kind of sound it's gonna have?

Quite liked Songs In A&E. It was miserable and bleak as fuck but in a good way.

just listened to songs in a and e for the first time in ages. much better than i remembered tbh.
i was kinda put off spiritualized after they were so fucking dull when i saw them live so havent listened to them much the past year or two. top band though innit.

That's what all the fans are saying though, wonder if Jason has said anything about it. Dunno about this? I bet it doesn't sound fuck all like Ladies and Gents so who knows? The info about the record being released this Fall is/was by the new record label that will be releasing the album, not by Jason. Yeah JP been spinning A&E a lot and it's way better than I remembered. |

even though ladies and gents is by far my favourite spiritualized album im a bit concerned by the news the newie might be trying to sound like it.
i think it was a really fucking special lp inspired by a really low time in jasons life, a once in a lifetime piece of work that wont be duplicated and should be tried to match.

agreed jp. i saw him play the whole album the december before last and it was unbelievable. 'stay with me' was one of the most powerful live experiences i have ever witnessed

They're a band I've never listened to, despite people recommending them to me time and again. I know which albums to start with, I've just never got round to it FFS. I'll report back when I've checked them out.

I saw them live twice and I wasn't disappointed at all. They have put out some of my favorite albums like Let It Come Down, but I fell away from them with the last one. Looking forward to the new album!
