The Music's Robert Harvey has said the band have decided to split up as he's "not enjoying it anymore."
The singer gave NME a few brief answers to fans' questions about the band's decision to split up this summer. He was asked by Reverend And The Makers frontman Jon McClure why his band was splitting.
"I quit because I wasn't enjoying it. Needed a new challenge," Harvey answered.
The Music recently announced that they will split up after 10 years together following two farewell gigs in TCOTU and Leeds this August.
Harvey also said that he was unsure whether he would start a new musical project, stating: "I'm not sure if I want to stay in music."
He did add that The Music's guitarist Adam Nutter and drummer Phil Jordan are working on new projects.
Fuck Robert Harvey.

My interpretation of that was:
"I didn't get rich right away. I found out that making it in music actually takes the willingness to do hard work and dedication, neither of which I possess."

It was quite generic tbh. You have all done that "they could have been so big" whining for a while. Let the guy do whatever he wants now.

They were a niche band for the most part and rarely stepped outside of their comfort zone. My quip was to his "getting out of music" line. Fair enough he doesnt want to anymore, but its not often people who have even a bit of success step away so easy, and his personality is that of a dipshit if you've had any interactions with him. Good on him if he's felt he's accomplished something if thats the case, but he's never come across as genuine.

he used to tweet and say how good the recording sesssions for the 4th LP were... anyway. alright so i'm not crazy the fact they released the new proves they really were having a good time up until a certain point. the tune is really good, love the guitar. i fucking love this band, such a shame.
