www.themusic.co.uk/So late last year goofy Harvey stated that the band broke up, well they're reuniting for gigs in Japan and probable UK dates. Unknown about a record, but they did record a lot of stuff before the "breakup". Harvey is a nutter, so I take anything he says with a grain of salt, but it looks like they're going to try again. EDIT: It seems that these are actually just going to be farewell gigs. Farewell single

They are all a bunch of pot smoking bellends. They sit around paranoid about everything putting out daft messages that they think sound intellectual but only make them sound like emo losers.
They've nobody to blame but themselves, they didn't work hard enough. Spent too long between albums. Could of made a small fortune and retired.

I thought they'd gone years ago.
Enjoyed them both times live but for a pointless reunion tour (which is probably just to make a bit of extra £££ after Harvey's guest appearances with the Streets)
Will just put Jag Tune on fucking load and have it indoors instead

Following Harvey on Twitter is a chore unto itself with some of his babble. Most of the time he just retweets stuff said by good looking women Really disappointed in them.

No denying the fact that everytime they play live it's the biggest show in town. I saw them for the first time in four years in 2008, by which time I was fully-paid up cynic, expecting the worst, and they fucking blew me away. I'll be making a point of going to any farewell show.

I agree with Karl's sentiment, but The Music were never going to make a small fortune, regardless of their drug intake.

I know the debut disappointed a lot of people on here but i loved it. Their gig @ The Limelight back in 2002 is in my Top 10, plus the RAin baND backed them up. Second album was a load of shite, but i thought the third was something of a return to form.
If this is a farewell tour i'm gonna make the trip over to the mainland to say my goodbyes.

I love the first EPs and very much like the debut. That whole era of theirs was outstanding with all the b-sides and stuff too. WTTN was definitely a step down and it was a mistake going with a big American producer for it. Thats why it sounds so polished, but I think there are a few tunes on it. The third seemed like more of the same to me, but definitely better than that. I saw em in Amsterdam with Rabo and they were fucking awesome. No opening act. Just them. Saw them again opening for Coldplay here but they were good there as well. I doubt they will, but Id love for em to get over here for a farewell gig. If it did happen it'd be in NYC, but I really cant see it happening.

I once met them at a Vines gig shortly before I was due to see them at the Empress Ballroom in Blackpool. I remember being drunk for the gig and me and my mate met them at the bar at the venue, asked for autographs but lacked paper so I got a five pound note signed by them (which I later spent) and, being at the exhausted, bladdered stage where you suddenly lack all conversational skills and want to sleep, I just said to them, "do you like Oasis?" Like I was trying to plug some new, trendy, obscure band. I don't remember much about the Vines gig that night but I remember the faces of The Music in the reaction to the question, and that of my embarrassed looking mate, and they were a treat. They were later excellent in Blackpool but that'll be my favourite memory of them

^ yeah that's the bollocks Murphs
I saw them 9 times, mostly they were fucking good. Even on that last album tour I saw them at the Barfly & ULU & both times they were good. I can't listen to them much anymore. Some of the early EP's & B-sides are still good. The debut was never half as good as it should of been. Few select cuts from there I still like to listen to but apart from that the rest I'm not interested in.
Don't think I can be arsed with the TCOTU gig.

Yea only 5 gigs total. 3 in Japan, 1 in TCOTU and 1 in Leeds. I imagine there may be more added but I doubt they're going anywhere else. Oh well. If Harvey wasn't a cunt I'd care more, but he's a weird cunt. I'd have liked to see them one more time but oh well.
Its funny when you bring up Oasis to other bands. Ive not met any that have said anything positive about them except Dave Grohl, but his appreciation is widely known as he's mates with Noel.

tbh I've never heard Dave Grohl say a bad word about anybody ever. As much as I like him he has the right answer for everything.
