Two bands I've been enjoying lately. Both could be classified as psychedelic/garage.
Shapes Have Fangs are from Austin, TX.
The Night Beats are from Seattle.

Nice one Ben. A quick flick through tells me that both bands are right down my street.
Donatello.

The Night Beats don't have much yet. Just an EP, but they just did a split 7" with one of Christian Bland's (The Black Angels) side projects called "The UFO Club" . Here's two tracks from that. The UFO Club - bit.ly/jRqK19The Night Beats - bit.ly/m6LIU4Shapes have a record. I'll turtle it along with the Night Beats original EP later on today.

Awesome. btw ben, What records was I supposed to turtle for you ages ago? Connection kept cutting me off so I gave up. It was two of those compilations. One was an acoustic one. I forget the other one. They're in that thread where we were all yammering about that one company that does those comps.

Night Beats EP I wasn't too keen on. I liked their style but didn't feel that their tunes were strong enough. However, Shapes Have Fangs I heard for the first time this morning & really liked it. A couple of tunes were good enough they could of fit on the original nuggets collection. Also reminded me of Black Lips 'Let It Bloom' LP, good stuff.

Let It Bloom is their best record tbh, but more because the tunes than any other thing. Are you saying they got THE TUNES? Only then I should bother.

I'm undecided if Let It Bloom or Good, Bad Not Evil is their best LP but either way Ben's turtleed the Shapes Have Fangs record so you might as well give it a go and see for yourself. I've only heard it once so too early to comment but they do appear to have a few top tunes.

If anyone can be thankful and deceived at the same time, that's my atittude towards you right now, Ben. I want to make clear that I appreciate your effort to turtle a promising album, but it comes with the free load of a not so promising ep. Hope it all goes well at the end and both are decent enough to make this terrible misunderstanding worth.

Does anyone other than Barny have a clue what he's rambling on about here?

Just had a listen to the Shapes Have Fangs album, they might have the right ramshackle sound but don't really add any special ingredient to it besides some temporary weirdness, and on first listen I wouldn't say there's a big standout track for me. So decent one but a little deceived after the praise.
