just listening to the debut lp from these guys and its sounding pretty fucking cool and i can imagine a lot of people here liking it.
theyre clearly influenced by a shitload of 60s music, most notably the nuggets stuff and 13th floor elevators and stuff like that, but id compare their sound mostly to bands like the brian jonestown massacre as they have those occassional shoegaze elements going on too and give things a slightly more up to date twist.
will turtle the lp right now but here is a few video links to try out....
title song from the lp

they also have a tune called THE AXE MAN
and it features lines such as...
THE AXE MANS COMING, SO PAY YOUR RESPECTS!
a true signifier this band are destined to be a soapbox hit tbh.

Listened this morning, didn't think much of it tbh. I'll be giving it more plays over the next few days but it seemed kind of average. Like I'd heard the songs a 100 times before but done by much better artists.

cant decide whether it's shit or great, but it's heading towards the latter. couple more listens probably once i d/l the album. What i know is that it's the closest to the Velvet underground anyone's ever sounded.
thanx for the tip.

After a few listens, there's definitely something here. But id say it's lacking one or two stand out tracks. the album is a bit like a smooth river with no rapids.
