Bakester, being the frontrunner hipster that he is, discovered this awesome melodic band that is Foster The People. ;D

Submarine & Suck It And See are both fantastic. Nothing less, and both at top of the list.
Helplessness Blues is at points even more pleasurable than the opener. Sam Roberts Band - Collider is a gem, everyone should hear that.
The true highlight, and most underrated one, is the Sand Band's "All Through The Night" - Genius.
Radiohead is almost making the liste, a lot of monster tracks, but I kind of lost interest in listening to it as an album. Some career highlights (Lotus Flower & Seperator are magnificent)
The Bees came back with their strongest single to date, but their LP is pretty wacky.

I hated the single, thought it sounded like a Zutons leftover. Album was really boring almost folk music in places. For a band that always produced such fun music they sure took a wrong career move in removing the fun.

So far I reckon the albums i've enjoyed most in 2011:
Yuck - Yuck (fucking brilliant album, loved them live last year and canna wait to see them supporting pulp at hyde park again this year)
The Streets - Computers & Blues (a few duff tracks but all in all his third best record, which might nae sound much to most folk but i love Hardest Way... aswell)
Elbow - Build a Rocket Boys (another incredible album, would say it sits 4th in their catalogue for me, but doesnae take away its a stunning listen)
Listener - Wooden Heart (most unique thing i've heard listening to music since I heard My Bloody Valentine's only shallow getting played in mccombies court fopp in 2002 and bought the cd, love listener, proper spine-tingling stuff)
also decent:
The Pains of Being Pure at Heart - Belong Cage the Elephant - Thank you Happy Birthday Twin Atlantic - Free Beady Eye - Different Gear Still Speeding
Most disappointing albums:
Tyler the Creator - Goblin (big letdown, but at least contributed Tron Cat and She - aswell as Sandwitches and Yonkers already - to the playlist I have of great Odd Future tracks)
James Blake - s/t (maybe I haven't given this enough listens but it just annoys me, loads of cunts been recommending it but his poncy poshcunt voice just fucks me off 'my brother and sister don't speak to meee' I DON'T BLAME THEM EITHER CUNT)

Agree with Yuck. I forgot about their record. It seems like its been out forever I also agree with Blake as being disappointing. I loved it at first and I still think Wilhelm's Scream (despite it being a cover) is one of my top 10 tracks of the year, but I've definitely grown really cold with it on whole and he was very disappointing live. I think the live problems were more of a result of his stage fright as it was his first US gig and you can just tell when someone is that nervous. Once he grows his repertoire, I think he will be great, so Im interested to see how he follows it up.

Just read today that Yuck are/were the two main members of Cajun Dance Party. Loved their album, so I reckon I should give the new 'un more of a go

It will definitely be up there for my money. I can't stop listening to him. Last year I only had two records which I'd class as fucking great records (kloot/Eels end times) but this year I've got four already in BSP, PJ, Josh T. Pearson & now Action Bronson. We are only in June as well, rocking.
