I won't watch anything he ever makes again after seeing the social network. I thought he was overrated prior to seeing it. Now I just think he's a useless cunt. Remaking films that came out just a matter of years previously so ignorant people don't have to read subtitles I refuse to watch it on principle. Same goes for Let Them In.

I liked the books and love Fincher (The Social Network is plain decent though), but the Swedish films were quite shit. Dunno, dunno...

Yeah, I am usually against re-makes 99 times out of 100 but this one is definitely a green light for me as the Swedish movies are horrible. But I hate any movie made in this country in general... I can pretty much just think of three movies worth watching the last 15 years.. Let The Right One In, Lilja 4-Ever and Together.
This movie is more valid for a re-make than Let Me In. Let Me In didn't bring a single thing to its table that was better or even close to the quality of the original.
This one is already better. And I forgot to mention it has Trent and Karen-O doing a cover of Immigrant Song. It's better than you think. (If you haven't seen the trailer.)

Sounds cool. Not really interested in the film though.

Got annoyed when I heard Hollywood was remaking this. Figured it was just another cash grab since the Swedish version of the trilogy was passing through our local indie moviehouse a the time. But now after watching the trailer I'm excited to see this one.

Wasn't a big fan of the Social Network, was alright. But I think no director in the world would've made a film about Facebook that I wouldve really loved. I think from a direction point of view it was pretty well done, but there was never that much in it for a good film.

No director with any ounce of taste in the world would of even considered making a film about Facebook for those very reasons. I'll never get those two hours back & when I lay there on my death bed wishing I could have just a few more precious moments on this earth I'll think back to the time I was 10 minutes into The Social network & didn't switch it off & have nobody to blame but myself.
Let's not pretend that this is some kind of working director who's just glad to get the job so therefor 'it was shot well so Fincher gets a thumbs up'. He's one of the biggest names around today. The fact he even agreed to it raises huge question marks over his intentions as a film maker. Then, the fact he made a film 1000 times worse than I'd already dreaded means I'm not interested in him as a Director anymore.
Now he is churning out pointless remakes of films that were made 5 minutes ago for thick Americans who are too ignorant to read subtitles.
I fail to understand how people can constantly praise him as one of the best filmmakers about today when there are so many Director's making better & more interesting pictures than him.
The choices of films a director makes are as important if not more important than the actual directorial side of things. Nobody would give a fuck about Kubrick's visual style if he had made generic family/adventure films instead of 2001 or The Shining.

You're quite more predictable than me, darling. I just find funny your overreaction to that film, I supose you already hated the dude before he chosing to do it. That's it, I'm not gonna go all bet welching prick and run away.

It's not an overreaction whatsoever, it's how I felt about the film. I never hated Fincher prior to this film. I actually quite enjoyed a couple of his films, just never understood the fuss about him as I've already said there are much more interesting director's making films today than him.
